Why do we limit ourselves?

Why do so many of us chose to limit the world that we live in, and what we can accomplish, by telling ourselves that we are powerless and useless, that it is always the other guy that gets the money/the job/the girl. Why do we chose to believe that we cannot do it, and forget our own innate power?

a self estem or limited possibilities - little courage to fulfill someting.
some people wont have that courage to take beyond what he have to take.. its a mentality rusting our possibilites and our best options. they may think ther present situation will answer the contentment of uncertainty. the more people induldge to all opportunities, the more you feel supressed. their conscious mind rejects the outcome of a new path to take. they conclude it as risk and not liking to take it. that they may or may not know, its limiting them and is having the permanent usual situation and usual habbits of rejection. people with these conditions are also likely to have a martyr and a follower attitude than of a leader and a contributor.. for the fact that they will just stick to what they are now, until they realize its time to retire and have another direction, but it will be always too late.

I agree with you completely on this one. So many people lead lives of 'quiet desperation' Thanks for letting me know I am not talking to myself.

Maybe bacause we lack self confidence, another reason is jealousy. If you didn't take those things off of yourself nothing will ever happen to your life. For me, the first thing that people should do is to learn to love theirself, accept who they are, what they are and do not pretend that they are somebody else. Being true to yourself and to others is the best way to gain confidence and be effective in whatever you want to do.

People forget that they are the makers of their own reality and let others run their worldview for them. It is time for man to stop seeing the world through another person's eyes and see it through their own. I think that people would be more open to what endless possibilities are available to them if they would just open their eyes!

so many movies claim the same thing, but maybe its them and the desensitisation of the world around us which makes us feel so dreary and empty. maybe thats why? maybe we don't know how to feel properly, or how to truly devote ourselves to something. personally i think it might be the overload of pheremones n our plastic and too much msg

I think limitations are good individually and collectively as well, and all religions of the world too, teach how to limit to be good for urselves and for the world

Through my analysis it is by nature that the ratio will remain that way and approximately will continue to repeat over and over through generations... I figured followers must be at a great percentage over the leaders on any field... but there is always no predestined fate in any circumstances as it sometimes happen that any single person regardless of his educational backgrouds will suddendly become popular beyond expectations.
