How's Your relationship with Your Parents?

China
December 23, 2006 9:51am CST
I never thought this question before, until I became a mother myself. By raising my baby, I knew how hard it is to raise a baby. I can know how much work my parents had done for me. But I ignored this before, and I took it for granted. I cared little to my parents. Sometimes I even hurted them by my speak or action. After to be a mother myself, I know I was so wrong. I'm so regret what I done before. I should make up the mistakes. Or I will be sorry in my left life. Mother, Father, I love you.

I love my family that much and our realtionship is going smoothly, eventhough there are a lot of obstacles coming our way, we are happy that we are still strong enough to face those problems, I really know someday God will give us a better life, it is just the test of how strong our relationship for each other go.

My relationship with my parents are generally okay. It's just that sometimes I find my parents are overly annoying with minor things. Especially my dad, he can repeats the same thing over and over again.

It's so for everyone. We often care little to our parents and we think that their are too strict with us. Only when we grow and have a family we understand what it means to be a mother or a father. I have a good relationship with my parents, but I consider that my parents not my friends, as someone do. So there as some things I don't speak about with them. But I love them, though I don't show it enough.

well i think 'mother is the first tescher of a child' there is no one other best friend's a child cn have in tis world other than his prents because they are the only ones who are with you without any reasons in all the time but its the duty of parents too to be friendly with thier childrens and love them

My mother has been mentally ill my whole life and is now in assisted living. My father abandoned us when I was an infant. Never was able to relate on any level to my mother, and my father is now trying to re-enter my life 35 years later. Not sure how I feel about it yet, but there you go.

The relationship i share with my parents is awesome. They are the highest priority in life to me. My parents are the greatest of gifts from god, I remember a saying - "Chance makes parents, but choice makes friends". if that's true than I had the best chance ever to have such wonderful parents. If again I get a chance to be reborn according to the Indian mythology in another Janam, I would definitely wish for the same mom n dad! So wonderfully have they supported me in all my endeavours, let it be a small or big thing, they have always supported me. Since childhood, they nourished me in such a manner that I could be a self made person today. But when it comes to decisions, even when I have a clear say, I share it with my dad n mom n for me their agreement to decision is like a strong pillar which is a must. I can dare against the world when my parents support me, n ya i can also dare against the whole world for my parents. I LOVE YOU DAD N MOM.

I totally agree with you..I too never realised how much I was against my parents all the time though they knew what's best for me. Now that I'm married, now itself I know what they meant and understand them .I guess I will understand a lot more when I become a mother myself. I'm away from home too now so all what they said and taught mean all the more now.

Right now, my relationship with my parents is ok. I have become closer to my mother compared to how we were when I was still living with them. We can now talk about almost everything. I am more comfortable opening up to her and I think she understands me more. I can feel her support in everything I do and she never fails to make me feel that she's always available for me. I've always loved her for being so caring and thoughtful. although, we're not anymore living under the same roof, she still takes care of me. She still buys my clothes and shoes...she still sends me food...she keeps her communication line open for me. I appreciate it so much. My dad...we were never close. I've already posted something about him in another topic. Since, I left home things have changed. Of course, we rarely see each other so, our relationship became better. We talk when I visit them. Just the casual talk though. I send him gifts. That's all.
