We are very excited this new year as we have moved to a different state and they allow certain fireworks in your home without permits. Others you have to have permits for and live on a property larger than an acre. We will probably go and buy some in the next couple of days and have a little party at home.

In the US I believe it is legal only on the 4th of July, our Independence day. Further, it is controlled by the cities, as far as whether they are allowed. Alot of cities in California no longer allow it at all, except for the large pyrotechnics shows, and of course they have to get a permit as well.

No.It is not at all allowed,in fact it is illegal also to go for fireworks after 10 PM.It not only creates pollution but also disturbs your sleeping. It is done by some crazy people.

In my state, they aren't allowed, even on the 4th of July but people always go out of state to get them, and if they do sell them here you have to say you are going to another state to let them off.
But.........some let them off regardless during the New Years celebration. They don't let a law stop them.

nope.illegal unless you have a pyrotechnic licence.
and even then not in a residential area.
they'll most likely jail you now if you don't.
some areas of the US you're allowed to tho.

No fireworks are not allowed where I live but there are always a few "rebel" types in the neighborhood that light the ones that shot into the sky and it is always fun to watch the police cars try to catch them. It gives a little excitement into the New Year!
