I like to watch for mixed berries on sale in our frozen food departments. I find that this is a very healthy treat. I eat them with yogurt and nuts for a meal or a snack. I like the mix that has four different berries in it. I would like to hear what kinds of fruits are available regularly where others live.

Sounds like good planning. Add some fruit and veggies and some quick to cook meals, and you would match me. When I have no income over holidays, I always still have lots of food to eat. Oh, and we buy a turkey or two, as well. Thanks for the response.

Most of my summer garden is in one of my freezers. Alot of work went into that, but is sure is nice to have garden fresh fruits and veg on hand
The other freezer is meats. We live on a farm so we raise our own meat as well. At least I know it is all organic.

That is the best way to be, I am sure. I have from time to time bought sides of meat from people who raise their animals with great care. I only have one freezer at this time though.

Not a lot. I have some chicken parts, frozen veggies, bread, and some hamburger and hot dogs.
Right now, fruit seems to be off season. If you want anything good, it's best to buy frozen. Apples and oranges seem to be around all year though.
Do you like bananas? If yes, freeze them in their skins when over ripe. Then when they are frozen, slice thin and whip with a little milk and maple syrup. Makes great ice cream.
