Thankfully we are past the stage of toys, and so don't have a problem with noise on Christmas day. However, this year we did excel in one of the presents that we bought for the 10 year old son of friends. He is into music and for years has come to our son's place and played son's mouth organ. How could we deprive this child of his own? That's right we bought him a harmonica/mouth organ BUT he is only allowed to play it at his own place, and not ours. LOL

*S* that was very thoughtful of you! My girls are into music also. That's why I really don't mind the drum set as much as people think I do! Thanks for your response.

My son got a harmonica because he desperatly wanted one. Why...I don't know. But he was so set on getting one that we had to get it and it came with a book to teach him how to play. But as soon as he opened it. I told him that he was only to play it in his room or outside. And so far...he has followed that rule. Too bad my bedroom is right next to his. But at least it muffles it. ha ha

My daughter specifically asked for musical toys for the 10 and 1/2 month old baby. I got her a tap a tune. Her uncle got her some kind of a light and noisy toy. My mom always swore that her MIL got us noisy toys on purpose to annoy. Drumming and Cheerleadin are appropriate for outside, weather permitting, and at least you will know where they are.

oh they don't bother me, as long as they abide by our rules and don't play with anything noisy late at night, too early in the morning, or when someone is sleeping. So far, they've obeyed the rules. to be so young! And let's face it, us parents have fun with the noisy toys too!

hehe lucky you! My son is eight months old and this is his first christmas. He got a walker that makes noise everytime he takes a step, A dog (stuffed animal) that does the abc's and colors, etc. every time that you barely touch it, a toy that makes car sounds, a dinosaur that roars and does colors, numbers, etc. And guess what? he has to have all the toys laying by him when he is on the floor and he has one hand on one toy, the other on another toy, and each foot touching another toy. So, at all times there are four toys going at the same time. So much fun. I love my sons grandparents...really i do! lol

A jingle-stacker-star thing for my daughter and a firetruck with bells and sirens and lights for my son. My parents were NOT well-meaning...they were thinking about paying us back for all the noise makers they put up with from me. *wry grin*
I swear...I think they did it on purpose! *laughing*
