I have been researching the movie Dreamgirls which is a remake of the book/broadway play Dreamgirls written by Mary Wilson. The book/broadway play is based off of Mary's life as a Supreme in the 60's and 70's. Beyonce play's the lead character Dena in the movie but is really playing the role of Diana Ross. We all know that Diana Ross used the Supremes to go solo. My question is...don't you think that Beyonce fit's that role to a T? Her career somewhat reflects Diana's because is many ways, Beyonce used her group, Destiny's Child, to eventually go solo. The music business is a dirty game.

That's an interesting point to notice! I think that both Diana Ross and Beyonce must have had some ideas that were the same when they began with their groups. This may have helped Beyonce in the role too. On the other hand, I think that both of them have a certain stand-out quality that makes a good lead singer or solo artist

....Or could it be that Diana and Beyonce had a bigger interest in the group. I say this because Beyonce's father was the manager of her group, therefore it is only right that she be the star and Diana Ross was dating Barry Gordy (ceo of Motown) and eventually had her first child with him, so that's an even bigger interest to make her star of the group. Sometimes it's not what and and how you do it...it's who you know.

She does fit that role to the T. I don't think they could have casted a better person for that role. It reflects her personal careere perfectly. The only difference is that instead of dating the manager, the manager was/is her father.
