fireworks for badluck?

Some people like the Chinese people believe that fireworks eliminate evil spirits. For me, I dont believe in this because even the users of the fireworks are evil spirits.

I think I have heard that that's why the Chinese set off fireworks for New Year's. It sounds good to me...why not? I like watching fireworks so if they also chase off evil and bad luck, even better.

I have never heard of this before, is this the origanl reason for fireworks...very interesting.

in the philippines almost everybody lights fireworks on new year's day because it's supposed o drive bad luck away. but when you think about it, people don't really believe that crap anymore. They light fireworks because it's what people have done fore years, and simple because it's fun. it has been a tradition and many traditions don't really need explanations anymore. people simply follow.

yes i believe on that because we usually do this every year..for me, it helps..to eliminate bad spirits.

In America we use fireworks to celebrate something like 4th of July. People in India also use fireworks to celebrate something like in Weddings or festivles. I have not heard of using fireworks to scare the bad spirits??
