Building a word (Trivia)- Can you get all 6 steps

1.) Take the vowel most frequently used in the English language. 2.) Place another letter in front of it and you have the initials of a very large manufacturer of electrical supplies and appliances. 3.) Put another letter in front of the initials in step 2 and you have a word that means period. 4.) Add another letter to the front of the word in step 3 and you have a wise man. 5.) Place another letter in front of the word from step 4 and you have the name of a river in Kansas. 6.) Add 1 more letter to the beginning of the word in step 5 and you have a measure in medicine. Is it OSAGE?? I figured from SAGE and GE..but I don't know if its a measure in medicine

Good thinking, yes the river is Osage. I had trouble with SAFE when I first did this one.
