Bisquik Mix- What do you make with it?

I am a hard time baker that prefers to bake mostly from scratch. A friend introduced me to the Bisquik Cookbook and I had to get one for myself. One of my favorite recipes is the Chicken Pot Pie. This is one easy recipe. When I first made it I thought that my husband was going to think it was garbage. Much to my surprise, he loved it. It has become one of my favorite dishes. There are so many meals that you can make with Bisquik and also some delicious desserts. What are your favorites?

I think one of my favorite recipes from the Bisquick cookbook is the shortcakes. They are yummy with fruit on top or just plain. My kids love the easy drop danish recipe. I think bisquick is the greatest stuff ever!

I use it for pancakes. There is also a recipe for impossible cheeseburger pie. I have altered the recipe and everyone loves it. I also make dumplings. I have tried the biscut recipe, but I do not care for it.

Rather than use Bisquik I make a homemade baking mix and use it to make crust for pot pie, dumpings for chicken and dumplings, cookies, pancakes, waffles, coffee cakes, etc. It's less expensive than Bisquik or similar mixes and healthier as it isn't loaded with preservatives. Plus, I can easily make it with whole wheat or soy flour, too.

I love to make crepes and put some strawberries and whipped cram in them. pancakes are the traditional thing to make but they are dang good. another good one to make is strawberry short cack which is very good when its cold out.

Chocolate Waffles with a honey-fruit syrup: Make waffle batter according to Bisquick directions but add 3/4 cup to the mixture... Bake waffles but be sure that they don't burn... nothing can burn quite like chocolate. For honey-fruit syrup, heat a saute pan and coat it with butter, stir in your favorite fruit, like strawberries and or blue berries, then drizzle in the honey and heat everything through. Pour warm mixture on waffles and add a dollop of creme fresh or whipping cream. Do not come after me for any weight that might be gained from this treat! :) Actually, it sounds more fattening than it really is! :)

You can also get the heart healthy version of Bisquik mix and it is quite good. I usually make biscuits or waffles and they turn out great every time.

As long as you get the heart-smart version of it then you should be OK. The regular version has too many unhealthy ingredients. Any time you see the words "partially hydrogenated..." on an ingredient list, you should avoid that product like the plague! That stuff is bad news, and bad for you. I like to make waffles from scratch and instead of syrup as a topping, I use peaches. It's delicious!

This is true. I have become a label reader since changing my eating habits. Making your own baking mix can be helpful too.

You can make all kinds of things with bisquick. If you can make something with flour I would think you could substitute bisquick for it. Recenntly we made peanut butter cookies with bisquick, they turned out delicious. We've made peach cobbler, pancakes, bisquits, dumplins for chicken and dumplings. I think its endless what you can do with bisquick.

Several years back I came across a recipe for apple crisp that sounded so great. I baked it and took it over to my brother's place for dinner one night. It was FANTASTIC!!!! The bummer is that I lost the recipe and haven't been able to find it again! That stuff was so delicious.
