Reading is an escape for me.

Reading is my escape from a bad day.I put myself into whatever story I am reading and for an hour I am someone else and can escape from my daily routine and go on an adventure. It allows me to revamp myself and totally takes away what ever has me going nuts at the time.Reading is my hide away from the world and everything bad that accompanies it and the bad day at work,or with the husband is gone and I feel refreshed and can continue the day and be relaxed.

We have different reasons why we read. Sometimes I do read if I had a bad day. But my most important reason why I read is because I want to broaden my horizon. I can't travel because I have no means to do so but I can buy and read books so that I my knowledge will widen. it is also a great help for me because I have to enrich my vocabulary to have a high proficiency in English.

Hey, that is really a great idea! Its so refreshing to see someone make the most of what they have instead of whining about their situation and limitations! I am gonnna use that concept in areas of my life that need it! As for Reading. Yes I totally used to do that too and if I read a love story I feel all romantic and cheerful, and vice versa. Guess I should stay away from murder stories!!

I understand how you feel. On a slow day at my house I can finish an entire novel. Yesterday it was a Nora Roberts book. I like her style. I also have started reading Janet Evonovich books and they are very entertaining. I love the way I can feed my imagination and stimulate my mind. Open a book and go anywhere...

I love to read as well and get the same feelings but I know I must come back to reality and deal with life, but it is good to escape from the humdrum life now and then. It depends on what we're reading. Adventure, Bible reading, romance, mystery's I love all reading, a good book is so addictive I can't put it down but it is fun to daydream and fantasize instead of worrying about the rest of the world and especially that which we can't change.

It is good to be able to escape for a little while, even if you have to come back to reality. For the time being when you are reading your able to slip off and enter another world and for me that is what reading a good book allows us to do.We can enter into the book and just relax and forget our problems for the time being. Then come back to reality relaxed and refreshed.

I read all the time for various reasons. But, I refuse to have any more bad days. I want a life where there is nothing to escape from. There is nothing bad in the world, only how it is perceived by the observer. What someone may choose to see as mud, I see only something to play in.

Well that sounds wonderful. But there are alot of people that don't have your wonderful outlook on things.I read for alot of reasons, not just to escape from reality, just some times when i'm reading the book takes me away and I can imagine that world and that time.Books are the windows for everyone to look through and to see other places and times. If a book can help you too see everything in a different perspective and feel relaxed after reading it then I am all for it.I just can't imagine why some people don't read at all or do not like it.

Reading fiction is fun because you can go places in your imagination that you may never be able to go in real life. Reading biographies is great because most of the time it will make you grateful for the normal life you lead. Reading self help books gives you inspiration to make your self and your surroundings better.

I think thats great that you use reading as your escape, its certainly a great way to relax and learn and refresh yourself. I can get sooo lost in books and i hate to put them down in the middle of reading it. I am always looking for new authors to read. I have to be careful and have learned not to pick up a book at all now if the kids are awake because it just makes me cranky to have to stop reading when they are finished an activity and need my attention again. Good discussion to start +

Escapism iit is for me as well. A sense of being able to explore and safely live a different life, where although they may have threats against their life but you are safe from the danger even if you get a thrill from it all.

Unfortunately I can never relax by putting myself into someone else's place. I enjoy reading a lot and relaxes me too. But I personally find interesting in reading the fact that I can make new thoughts.
