If you were a non-human animal...

Lazy cat - Yep, if I were a cat, there'd be some mice I'd be wary of ;)

If you had the choice to be anything else than human, which other animal would you like to be? Obviously, I'm also expecting the reasons why you'd like to be one or another. Personally, I'm quite happy to be human, although being a cat in a good family wouldn't displease me. I could satisfy my natural laziness and sleep all day, go and pester other animals in the garden, and I'd be fed and cuddled... and all that for nothing in exchange! What a life!;)

If I had to pick, it would be a sloth. Man those animals have it right. Why spend your life in a rush? Just lay back, take your time and enjoy the world. Did you know they don’t even have any natural predators? At least the one documentary I seen stated that. How cool it that! Life at a leisure rate and no one to gripe at you or eat you because of it.

Pretty similar animal to the cat: laziness incarnate! ;) However, the cat has the definite advantage to have a human or two at his/her service. Top that, Ms. Sloth! :D

Hey a sloth is so laid back, they don't even need service, LOL. Beside, being a cat you'll have to deal with the crazy frenzy catnip will send you into. Nothing makes a Sloth loose it’s cool. B-)

Well, you have to go crazy from time-to-time. Got to show you're there. That's probably why a sloth doesn't make a good pet ;)

Graceful Giraffe - I would want to cvome back as a Giraffe.
I would be a Giraffe! I am tall as a human and I identify with the tall, gangly creatures. And besides, the female giraffe's have very long eyelashes. Something i did not receive in my human body. They are magestical in my world. And actually very graceful for how tall they are. Now, if reincarnation actually exists....

If survival is the criteria, I would like to be right on top of the predatory ladder, or something that is absolutely undeible, or feared maybe even despised by other creatures. For example, an adult wild elephant is not carnivorous, but is still feared by most animals, even the two footed ones. The other creature that has very few takers for it would be fully grown up crocodile or the alligator, note in both cases I have said 'adult- fully grown up'.

A virus strain that could go into hibernation over a long period of time until conditions suited it would be another option - note I am not sure here what level of awareness a virus would have as compared to and elephant or a reptile.

I never would have thought of a virus as an animal but you've made a good point @tarachand

Dragonheart - Image of Draco, from Dragonheart
Well I had to think on this one. I think I'd go with a dragon. Yeah I know it might be a bit different then you thought on but I think it would be cool to be one. Being able to fly, swim, belch fire. It would be neat to be able to do all that. It would definitly be very different.

Such an animal does exist. It's called the Komodo Dragon, and although it can't fly, it does swim and breath "fire", that is when it hunts down an animal, it bites it and allows the animal to get away. It thens lets the powerful, firey bacterial cocktail do the killing... The Dragon then uses it's excellent senses to track down the dying animal and finishes it off... These animals can get big, some reach the 300 pound range or more... Since, I was born in the Year Of The Dragon, and Dragons are the luckiest of creatures... I wouldn't mind being one of these! :)

I was referring to animals that actually exist (or have existed if you want to be a dodo!), but the dragon answer will do. Thanks! :)

Well i would have liked to be bacteria and have the ability to degrade all the nonbiodegradable wastes that humans have created. if strictly an animal i would love to be a migratory bird and ove from pole to pole watching all the richness of earth.

well, i would like to be a lion, the king of jungle. a dominant male and just lay and sleep all day, eat and reproduce. i think i would rather live in captivity though, maybe not a zoo but a reservation where i would be the only dominant male lion, this way no other young lion would come and try to replace me

If I would be an animal, other than human, I believe I would be a cat. I say this because I feel I have the personality of a stereotypical cat. I am independent, loyal, I want attention and affection when I want it and no other time. I feel I'm sassy and strong willed and I think cats are the same way. I feel it would be an appropriate fit.

Hi there...I also appreciate being the human animal because I have the desire to constantly learn and share this knowledge with others. However, if given a choice to be another animal it would be the cheetah. Although, a cheetah doesn't have the spoils of a pampered house cat I love the idea of living in the great savannah grasslands to roam to hunt and explore. Being the fastest land animal nothing is more wonderful to have the open space to bolt from 0-60 in less than 3 seconds to catch my fresh dinner! ;-)

I'f ever I was not born as a human, what animal would I want to be? I want to become a bird, because atleast I can fly anytime I want. And also, I want to join other birds and migrate to other countries. I think it is one of the best things I could ever do as a bird.

I can't tell you how many times I have wished I was a cat. I have two well cared for cats - and I envy how much they get to sleep and how much attention they get just for being cute. Of course, being a cat whop is in an abusive home or on the streets would ne aweful. But like you, I'd love to be a cat in a good home. I often joke with Hubby that I was a mistake - I should have been born a cat.

I'd want to be a turtle. They live forever and they are cute. They live off of grasses and such and in water. I'd have the best.
