Do you wear rubber gloves when cleaning your house?

The chemicals in most of the cleaning products that we use to clean our homes with can cause the skin on our hands to become irritated. Some people are fortunate and do not have to wear gloves when using the cleaning products. Having very sensitive skin, I have to wear gloves. If I don't wear gloves, my hands become red, rough, and dry out. Sometimes they will crack and bleed. Even the mildest detergents can sometimes prove harsh to the skin.

No, I do not wear rubber gloves to clean. They are bulky and cleaning detergents really don't seem to bother my hands that much. When I get through, I thoroughly wash and then moisturize my hands. That seems to do the trick.

I have tried that too, but I have very sensitive skin and I get an adverse reaction to most detergents and cleaning products.

Not usually. The only time I do is when I am cleaning with bleach.

Sometimes yes, and sometimes no. I like to use very thick emolient creams. I also try to use things like vinegar, and baking soda, and scrub brushes to keep my hands out of the water, etc. I do not have the problem you have, but I have always had dry hands. I can remember waking up at night in high school, to get lotion for my hands.

natural cleaning ingredients - using natural products are better for you and the environment
No rubber gloves here since we use natural methods using things like vinegar and baking soda, leomon juice, bleach on occasion. Salt is a good scrubber. Regular old soap does wonders for alot of things. I would suggest learning of the natural methods that could prove kinder for your hands.

No i don't wear gloves when cleaning they seem to be more a a nuisance than a help and they make my hands go funny .I tried wearing cotton gloves under them but it made not difference. I think my hands are tough enough to handle chemicals as my hubby has a cleaning business and at times i had to help him

I don't usually have the problem, I don't wear gloves, EXCEPT to clean the oven. I used to clean it without the gloves, but it kinda ate my hands once, so I started wearing them. I just moved to a new house and now I have self cleaning oven, first time ever, so I don't need the gloves anymore. YIPEEE!

No, I don't wear gloves when I clean the house. I don't have a problem with red or dry hands. I spray detergents and use paper towels to clean it with. I don't touch too much of the detergents.

I do not. All that happens to my hands when the chemicals touch them is that they dry out a bit. I don't get anything too extreme, and what I have isn't bad enough that it makes me want to go out of my way to put gloves on for protection.

The only time I wear gloves is when I clean the cat litter box. I hate gloves. I use mild cleaners. Most are homemade. I use alot of baking soda and vinegar. Also use alot of murpys oil soap. I have solid hardwood floors so there are no carpets to clean.

I do not wear rubber gloves while doing housecleaning. The sad thing is that I do have rubber gloves for that purpose but never take the time to put them on and use them to protect myself from the harmful chemicals. So far, I have been fortunate enough to not have any problems but it would be safer if I did so from now on. Thank you for this reminder. :-)

Wow, I didn't know that. I only wear rubber gloves when I clean the oven because of the cleaner, it's very bad for your hands if you're not careful.
