Is Jupiter a dying star?

How much do scientist really know about Jupiter? My thought is that Jupiter is actually a dying sun. One aspect of a dying sun is that when it starts to burn out, it increases in size and changes to a red color (2 aspects of Jupiter). If Jupiter is a dying sun, will it collapse into itself and create a black hole? And if a black hole is created, earth will be sucked in? This is just my thoughts, anyone have any of their own thesis concerning this?

as far as i know jupiter is a planet not star since it revolves around sun, if it would have been a star the we would see to suns that is not there so it is a planet

ah, yes, it does revolve around the sun...but who is to say that millions of years ago, the planets did not revolve around jupiter, and when it started dying out and another star was born (the sun), the gravitational pull was altered and hence, planets (and jupiter) started revolving around the sun.

if what youll say its truth, then the sattelites of jupiter wouldnt exist, because, if it was a star, this satellites would have beem abosrbed and destroyed by him a long time ago.. of course, theres a posibility, that they were created after the star to start dying too. umm... i think we dont know enough to make theories about it.

It is true that I do not know alot about Jupiter, but I think it's rather interesting that in some aspects, Jupiter has alot of the same qualities as our sun. On the website http://www.solarviews.com/eng/jupiter.htm , in describing Jupiter, and I quote "the atmosphere is very deep, perhaps comprising the whole planet, and is somewhat like the Sun."
