Enya Music was introduced to me by a deaf friend. Yes he can hear it via the vibrations and ever since then I have just loved her music. I have everyone one of her CD's. Enya music is fantastic when you are travelling long distances as you are able to concentrate yet enjoy it at the same times. I have to be in the mood to enjoy other music as the drums in them irratates me. I have never found out why yet. I have a few Favorites: In Amaratine the songs in the rain and Long Long Journey are my favorites, because I associate it to where I am living. A day without Rain has to be Wild Child. Again this is due to where I do live. Paint the Sky with Stars the song is Only If.... I feel her music is like a lullabuy and its quiet soothing when I have been stressed and her music certainly helps me when I get back from my call outs from the Ambulance Services.

A Deaf friend put you onto Enya? Wow. I have a deaf friend and he like Emineim because of the beat. He could feel it. The contrast is startling.

My Turkish cousin Togay introduced me while we were in college together in Alabama. I think she has the sweetest voice and most wonderful, surreal videos. I wish I could see her in concert!

A friend of ours mentioned Enya. I wasn't sure if I was interested until he told us she was the sister of Clannad's Maire Brennan, and I'd already been a big Clannad fan for a while. Enya has gone on to enjoy more mainstream success, but I like them both. :)

Oh, what is my favorite...??? I can't really pick just one! But I like her dark, brooding songs like "Tempus Vernum" quite a bit. However, I also like the "language" she and her Roma Ryan created for Amarantine, too. I like her more upbeat songs as well. The ones I can take or leave are the slow, plodding ones like "Once You Had Gold." They're a bit boring.

oh dear... I don't remember where I first heard Enya...my favourite would have to be Boadiccea and The River Sings (from Amarantine). Doesn't it sound like it should be a song in Riverdance or some such thing?!!

I would have to say that I became aware of Enya with the movie Far And Away starring Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. Things of an Irish nature usually draw my attention before anything else :) Orinoco Flow is a favorite of mine, I must admit. But I do tend to like her songs that have an upbeat sense to them. I understand she does concerts only in cathedrals - has anyone else heard that?

Oh, hey! I also love the Corrs! Their album Home is actually my favorite among their other releases because of the Irish feel. I even transcribed the two songs in Gaelic just so I can sing along to them LOL. Although I've liked Enya way back in the late '80s already :)

I was first introduced to Enya by some SCA friends. They would grab her, chieftains, any kind of music like that to get them "in the mood" for an event. My favorite I guess is Oranonco Flow.

I was first introduced to Enya's by my ex-boyfriend from Alabama. He was a christian missionary in Caracas, Venezuela and he was doing his missionary work at my university campus. We became good friends and one day he shared with me his passion for Enya. Ever since then I became a fan :) Favourite song? Wow this is a toughie... I have my set of favourites from each album... but on Amarantine it's probably Less than a pearl (in Loxian) and It's in the rain (in English).

WATERMARK had just been released and I was heading to band practice (I played bass guitar in an alternative rock band in the Baltimore area during the late 80's/early 90's) when thelocal alternative station suddenly played Orinoco Flow. It blew me away so much, I had to pull over on the interstate and search for pen and paper to hurriedly write down the name of the artist and album. I had never before heard anything that had so instantly captivated my imagination. I can still remember arrivng at rehearsal that afternoon and telling my bandmates about this incredible new person I had heard on the radio. Next day, I hit the stores and snagged everything with her name on it. The rest was history. My favorite? Hands down it would be her first album, the music for THE CELTS. Far andabove her best and my personal all-time favorite of hers.

I was introduced to Enya's music when I was ten. I heard Orinocco Flow on the radio. I fell in love with it and had to stop everything to listen to it. Ever since, I had to get all her music and so far I have everything she has done.

I first heard Orinoco flow played by a jazz radio station in the late '80s. In college, a dormmate of mine lent me her Watermark casette tape and I played it over and over. I have been an Enya fan since. Now I have 5 of her albums plus a DVD of her music videos. My favorite songs remain Book of Days (the lyrics speak to me!) and Storms in Africa (the music tugs at the heartstrings and the video was so poignant). But there are still a lot more that I also want to listen to over and over like Anywhere Is, Wild Child and Carribean Blue :) I don't know why but the latest album Amarantine hasn't caught my fancy that much yet. I agree with some posts here that Enya's old songs still come up tops.

I remember listening to it when I was really young, my mother adores her. So it became something I enjoyed. When I listen to her now, I get these good childhood feelings along with a calming state of mind. Favorite song- Storms in africa
