How many of you have your life rules for you, or do you rule what your life is about. Does your day by day life revolve around the same things, or do you change each day to fit you. Are you governed by religion, politics etc...or do you do what you want to do and make a staement for others to follow. I am interested to hear how others live day to day....

That is great to hear, you know a lot of people have that same problem, they are bound by there life, so many times I will ask a friend what they are doing this weekend or whenever, and they always have the same answers, I have to....etc..etc...etc...but the answer is always something that doesn't need to be done, they just have themselves so grounded that they do not even realize that they are letting themselves be ruled by there lives...myself, I play it day by day never really planning the next, and take it as it comes, my days are alway open.

To be honest I am not sure at times I think most of the time my revolves around the same thing As for for being governed no I do what I want to do and I say what I want to say no one tells me anything to do or say and I am not influenzed either by anything like that

I think we are all influenced one way or the other by outside sources in how we govern our daily lives, even if we believe we have complete control over it, there is if you think about it, some outside influence.

I live within a moral context, which does not change. My morals are my values and my beliefs, which may evolve, but do not change daily by chance circumstances affected by others. So, while my routine changes my rule of my life does not change. Truely, the only way we can rule our own life (because we cannot rule outside influences), is to rule our conscious thought and emotion and behavior.

That is a very good answer, and would never have thought of it that way.

I think that life rules me. I do the same thing everyday to avoid any complications, or my fear, running out of time to get things done. My family and I are involved in many things threw the school and the community, so it is hard to just sit back and say today, I am going to just sit and do nothing. If I did, the nextday would be twice as busy. I do not worry about setting an example, or making a statement to anyone, but my kids. I would like them go get things done, and not be procrastinators, which is why I think we are always so busy!! :)

No 2 days are the same. But my life does revolve around family, home and work. I believe in GOD, and I'm glad I do. At least I have a special place to go and rest my wary soul after a busy day.

I'm afraid I am a slave to routine, I need a routine to help me function in life. I make a list of things I have to do each day and make sure by the time I go to bed that everything has been crossed off what can be crossed off. I am not, however, governed by religion, because I'm not interested in religion, and I'm not religious. Currently I am out of work, so my day consists of getting up at 10, breakfast, go to the gym, watch tv, housework, computer, bed at 1, so I can get my 9 hours sleep. Sometimes I feel that I have no aims in my life that I'm a drifter. I prefer to be a free spirit in life. Life is far too serious. Interesting topic for discussion!

With my job and the farm ... would have to say that my life rules me .... there is no option. My boss tells me where to take a load ... what time to be there and where to go to collect return load .... so life rules me there. At home on the farm .... seedlings have to be planted and watered ....... then watered and weeded as they grow .... then when they are ready they have to be picked. So my life is ruled by nature .... what she has ready I have to pick and pack to sell. Religion is important .... but that is my belief and I follow the teachings of my religion. Politics is different .... would say they should all be hung .... politicians that is because they are a pretty useless bunch of overpaid idiots. I say we do what we have to do ..... to make a living and to survive in this harsh world.

i think my life rules me, because i do everything for everyone else in my family and i let the cleaning and the money stress me out and can never really relax untill all bills are paid and the house is clean and laundry is done, and then even then i am still stressing about something.

After reading your question, I just noticed that life rules me. I do things because I have to and I need to :). Maybe its time to rest a little while and do things I have to do for myself rather than racing with time. Sometimes I cecome soooo busy that I just don't know what to do anymore. LOL

I rule my life, within the bounds that we have to live with that is. I am retired, so am not a slave to time in that regard, although of course if we have an appointment we do have to arrive on time. However, at the same time we are the ones who choose the day and time of those appointments which means we are ruling our life in that regard. Religion is a bit difficult because I am a practicing Christian, so that does impact on my life to a certain extent in that I use my Christian beliefs in my every day life, so certainly they do have an impact. Politics, or the politicians who make the laws, also govern our lives to a certain extent. We can of course choose to live outside of the laws that politicians make, but then that would put me in conflict with my religious beliefs. So I would say that for those who live within the law, that politics does impact on their life in the same way as it does for those who put their religious beliefs into daily use.

I am the who has my own rules, no matter what people think or say. They are just outsiders, never happened that i did according to people thought around me. I wanted to complete my engineering, i did it. No one in my family interferes in my life or decisions, some times we have to listen their thoughts too. As they are our elders. But as far as life is concerned, i am my king. Religion is nothing more than a myth for me, i am happy to say hello from distance to such people who are willing to die for their religion.
