Finding a Job and moving house.

Well I'm in a bit of an awkward situation. Me and my partner both need to find jobs where we'll be moving to (I think my partner can transfer), but we'll be moving 100 miles away from where we live now, so really we should get a house sorted first, but we can't afford to get a house first, but if we got a job first we'd have to commute, which we can't afford to do either. Would it be easier to try and find a house or job first or are there any other options?
(I live in England)

That is a difficult situation. If you find a house first, you'll need the money for deposit and rent, etc. which is fine if you've got it. But if you haven't, you need a job first. If you have got some way of getting the deposit and at least a couple of months rent sorted then getting a house first would be best, that would give you a little while to look for a job. But if you haven't got the money to do that then obviously you will need a job to get the money in the first place but you couldn't save enough if you're having to commute 100 miles a day! The ideal option would be to look for both a job and a house at the same time and try to get it so that you move into the house like a week before you start your job. If you can't do that, the only other option would possibly be, if you can, stay with someone you know while you look for work so you haven't got so much to pay out, or look for something really cheap and temporary, even if it's not very good, at least you will be in the right place to look for a job and then you'll be there ready to start a job.
