Im not trying to be Racist? Do you think it time for all black community should stop Calling each other The N word. I know if you use The N word the black community will be outgerous. Do you remember Michael Richard Racist Remark make in the Media. Because Michael Richard is a white person. What if he is a black person, They would not make it a big deal. What if a Black person offend a different type of racist group. The Media doesn't make it in a Big Media. Double Standard or Politicial Correctness Based on YOUR RACE? I want to hear your opinion.

Michael Richards and his incident is a very bad example. He actually was spitting venom and referred to Black people being lynched and the like. Worst of all, none of it wass funny. Other comics that were there stated that it wasn't funny and if he were Black, it still wouldn't have been funny. That being said, you have a very good point. Richard Prior made it acceptable for Blacks to use the term back in the late 70's and he was VERY funny. But even he made a trip to Africa and came back with a changed perspective. If you listen to his album, "Live on the Sunset Strip", he explains why he would not use the N word anymore in his routines. And he didn't. Unfortunately, it did not catch on to other comics of color and they still try to imitate the master. Very few even come close. Back to your point, Yes, it is time for everyone to stop using that word as well as calling other groups hurtful names. There are some of us out here who actually live and believe what martin Luther King said, "..it is not the color of their skin, but the content of their character" that is important.

Yes. It's a derogatory word and nobody, no matter what race, should be using it. And that goes for any race whatever word they like to use for each other. It's another way of segregating one race from the other. I hate that doublestandard!

It's not just black people. Gays, women and various other groups are all reclaiming words that began as insults. And it all has to do with familiarity and intent. If a good friend of mine refers to me as a d*ke, I know she means it in a friendly way. Or if another gay woman uses it, I know she's using it as a gay woman and not as an offensive term. If some random person uses it? I have no idea what their intent is. And how can a group specific term offend a group the term doesn't apply to?

I agree with you. We are not using the N word to discriminate but is a "white" person uses it than we take it as an insult. It's just a way of culture at this time. It's not going to stop.

That's what's known as a double negative. It's used to lessen the affect of it. However two wrongs to make a right. It is counter productive for everyone.

I am so totally agreeing with you. Why are black people using that word to each other? It's such an insult and they are not respecting each other. It's also hard to explain to my children that we NEVER use that word because it's offensive and then they hear a black person say it to one another and think well if they call each other that, how is it offensive???

if blacks call themselve nigers then it is not offencive to them so anyone can calls them nigers most of their ancesters came from Niger anyway, so if they complain then they are complaining about their forefathers and their country of oragine so call them Nigers as you would call me an australian or someone american or indian

The biggest thing to remember is that we all are "Humans", we have grown together and we need each other all the time. Abusing each other is not good for any community, Because some day they will need help from other community for some kind of reason. No matter they are black or white, we all have heart and heart is a residence of love. So, let us open all the doors of our heart and let the love flow for each other. A combined effort of all can make this earth a heaven.

I remember the Mayor of New Orleans offended a white community. He have to said about thing Vanilla Ice Cream Crap. Maybe We can blame the Left wing media. They aren't telling the whole story. Bill Cosby is really upset why he want change something. He probably upset why some rapper are treating women trash on the video. The black community was outgerous about Bill Cosby comment last year? Does anyone in here remember the story?

In the fantasy world, yes of all racist words should banned it from their vocabulary. But in reality people are going to do what they do regardless. It seem like in our human nature, we want to go against the grind or do they opposite of wha people say just to get on their nervous. Now after saying that, i think when people should not adversite something that they feel offensive by. The biggest thing that make me angry is when people use degrading words for profitting, like in movies and music. That is my biggest irrtation. (not to pick on anyone) but lets us blacks for an example since their are the main topic here. Yes, there is a differences in the word but the word as a whole still apply and therefore degrading. Another example, is lets use crime for black on black crime but if a white people kill a black, its a hate (racist) crime.

I honestly feel that they black community should stop using racial slurs if they want it to stop all together. THey are the ones keeping these words alive. If they can call themselves that word then so should everyone else. Not everyone is racist, and I am so sick of them playing the race card. They have their own tv stations...could a white group have a white only television station? Nope, that would be racist, however they can. Miss America HAS to have blacks in it or they are racist, yet there is Miss Black America and that is ok. How is this sort of thing fair? I personally am sick of it.

i think that black people should using the 'N' word! i don't think it's fair that they say it to each other and when white people say it we get arrested ... and we get the book thrown at us! ( i don't mean to sound racist .. if my opinion sounds racist because i aint racist.)the way i see it is.. 'never judge a book by it's cover'... it doesn't matter what colour ur skin is.( im gonna shut up now lol).

I don't care for name calling in any fashion. I'm obviously a white, middle aged woman, but no one had better call me a biatch or old hag or anything else that goes along with my race and age. People have gotten away from just plain courtesy. We all have names, and if you don't know my name, then ma'm will do quite nicely. I don't have need to be in a private club that allows someone to insult me. Time for all the hatred to go away and lets get back to civility.

I'm not racist neither, but I do think that if the african american race doesn't want a white, asian, hispanic, etc. to call them the N word then they shouldn't call each other it or use it neither. You can't just tell other races, well we can say the N word but yall can't because it offeneds us. If it offends you then you don't use it neither.

No one of any race should say it.And this topic needs to be put to rest. Why can't we all just get along.

I disagree with you about putting it to rest. It is a sore topic but does need to be discussed in an adult mature manner. It isn't something that will go away on it's own and maybe if people discuss it there might be a better understanding.

well, every ethinicity probably has something like that. growing up in hawaii we had a 'word' for about every ethnicity, sometimes it can be meant as offending, but most of the time the people who use it ARE it. yes, the blow is lessend a little, but also there is a slight differance between the N word and the other N word that black use for eachother. its like the way a word is used and the content the word is used in can greatly effect the meaning of it. the way that Micheal Richard used the word was more offensive, as in where black people use it, its more in a fun, slang sort of way. although we all know the black form, we rarely hear all the other forms. i'm sure every asian as their own word including japanese, chinese, filipino's and koreans...they all have something in their tight society where you would use a sort of slang word that is acceptable on eachother.

I definatley think african americans should stop calling each other the N word..that word was produced out of hate..where is the logic in calling your fellow brothr or sister The N word? any word that could be used as a discrimitory word should not be used for whatever reason. Like a man calling his girlfriend his Bi***, or two Lesbian friends calling each other Di***...or two mexicans calling each other spi***....when you see two people calling each other something that is considered discriminatory..dont you kinda just laugh at the fact that they call each other such things and then 15 min later someone calls them that in a non joking matter and they automatically get ticked off. when i hear two black men call each other the N word or any of the other variations i have stated..i look at them and i laugh inside at how stupid it is.

I think you right, they should stop saying this word, But I don't think that there is something to do about it. There is no law against it, and even if it will, none of the black community would want that.

I think you should blame The COmedian like Chris Rock, and other. They are making fun of jokes difference type of race. White, Asia, Mexican and more. I know people have the right their freedom of speech. They have so many problem with this country. They are judge you based on your race. I don't like a person insult difference type of race. You mostly like you will lose your job based your opinion.
