I know how you feel as I end up getting quite upset with my other half when he doesn't stick up for me. Or is on someone else's side. For me I have always been there to support him, but also stand up for him. And I believe both partners should act in this manner when it comes to being in a relationship.
Have you ever tried sitting down with him & discussing with him how what he does hurts you? And if you have how did he react? I think if you haven't talked to him already you need to sit down with him & express to him how you feel about this.
I've always believed that a relationship is supposed to be a partnership. Two people looking out for each other every step of the way. To me a guy should be willing to protect the women he loves. Especially when someone on his side of the family is attacking you. He should be right there.. Front & center telling them to back off or at least saying something to show that he is on your side & is there to support you.
I'd talk to him about how you may be feeling. If he isn't willing to listen to how you feel then you may need to question if this is meant to be. I know I've done that several times when my other half hasn't stuck up for me. If anything it makes you feel really crummy about yourself because the person isn't willing to stick up for you.
If you end up discussing with him how you feel try to keep us updated. As I'd like to know what ends up happening. That is if you feel comfortable. I wish you all the best!

I am in the samer boat and have stopped communicating wioth both of them, whatr else can I do if I am misunderstood everytime. I have tried to point it out to him through du=iscussions but it never helps. they have a strong bond so be it. I have left them both to their own talks and now don't pay any attention to what eiyther of them say.

Don't go to back answer. Try to win your mom in law's heart, by spending more time with her.
