Is there anyone out there who really hates flying, if so How do you deal with your fear? Or do you just love being up in an aeroplane?

Hate, Hate and Hate some more! I can't not bring myself to feel comfortable knowing my life depends on this man made thing that big and can fall that far from the sky, with me in it. I tell people everyday, I will fly when those wings sprout from my back. Till then, I am grounded. LOL

It took 26 years to get me on a plane, I had a terrible phobia about flying, I guess I took after my mum, there was no way on earth you'd get me on a plane. Finally I took the plunge (sorry bad pun) and I went away to Cyprus with my parents, I was so nervous but I'm glad I've done it. On average I probably fly once every three years, but it does have the edge over boats for me.

I hate the concept of being that high in the air for long periods of time..I only been on a plane once and I got so scared, I cried the entire time..its not something I want to do..then when evrything happened with 9/11, I definitely don't plan on getting on any planes anytime soon...

I don't really hate flying, but I would much rather travel by boat. At least there is plenty of space to walk around and also plenty of restaurants. I would never consider travelling on a longhaul flight as I would be fearful that the pilot might fall asleep or the plane might develope engine trouble.

I have always been a really nervous flyer, even though I fly at least once a month. I am especially nervous during the takeoff and landing, but even when up in the air I don't relax. I listen to every sound, and if it's a bumpy flight then I'm a nervous wreck. I just deal with it, though. I had a prescription for a weak sedative to take while flying at one time, and it just made me too drowsy for the rest of the day. It's better to just immerse myself in a good book and try to forget it.

Personally, I loooove flying. I love being in the air, and I love watching aircraft. I especially love helicopters, but I have never gotten to ride in one yet. I live near a Navy airfield, and love hearing the jets and other aircraft zooming overhead.
