What do you do with your Mylot friends?

January 10, 2007 6:30am CST
I thought this could be an easy discussion about our Mylot friends, and how we use this option. There are no right or wrong answers :-) Questions - A- Do you give friends priority when searching for a post to reply to? B- If so, do you use a system for this so you don’t miss anyone or do you just use the “Discussions my friends started” option and pick friends at random? C-Have you ever dropped a friend and if so why? D-Right now, how many Mylot friend do you have? E- Do you ever think you could have too many Mylot friends and why? F- Do you like this option or do you find it unnecessary, and why? G- Do you rate your frinds own discussions when you reply to them? ----------------------------------------------------- Me... A- Yes I do. B- Once a week I go through my list of friends and check their profiles for their discussions and post from there. Then through the week I just us the Discussion my friends started. C- Yep, they turned out to be a bit hateful and I really couldn’t reply to any of their posts and they never replied to mine. D- 66 E- Yes, it beginning to get a bit hard to keep up with everyone, so I may have to start cutting down on accepting friends. I don’t want to have friends I can not post to because of lack of time. My personal opinion, it wouldn’t be fair to them. F- I like it, I think since I accept friends that post things I share interests with, it makes it easier for me to find topics. G- Yep, I am a rating fool. I rate when they post on my discussions and I rate when I reply to theirs.

Very interesting discussion...ok here goes : A) of course! i will always respond to my friends discussions first, they are my first priority B) most of the time, i will just go to 'Discussions my friends started' but i know i might miss some of my friends' discussions, therefore, i will try to go into individual friends' profile when i have the time... C)i've dropped a lot since the few months here....hehe...cos 1) they started discussions without bothering to respond to any other discussions 2) they only respond those oneliner responses 3) repetitive and silly discussions D)249 E) i believe in quality...and if there's more friends that they do give quality responses or start very good discussions, i dont think there can be 'too many' F) of course G) if it's good, of course i will rate it

A; Yes friends have priority B; Pretty much cover everything for the last 24 hrs or how ever long it has been since I've been on. c; Yes turned in to too many religious questions for me too many quotes from the Bible etc. This was all the post she could write.. D; 17 not a lot but they keep me busy. E; No but could be here all night ...lol F; very necessary - so much easier than trailing through post just to find one from a friend. G; Rate most thing I read -explains why I'm here for hours on end. lol

a - yes i give my friends priority. i always check discussions from friends first. b - i only answer to posts that interests me. so if they start a very interesting one, then that's when i reply. c - i don't think i have but i would if you still have 0 post. But even those fairly new ones who would add me, I do accept them. Sometimes, I even encourage some of them. d - right now, i have quite a lot. e - i really think we can add as many friends as we want. f - i like this option. somewhere along the way, you'll meet mylotters that would make your mylot experience more enjoyable. you get to interact and create meaningful discussions. g - friends or not, i do rate discussions which i think should receive a +. Sometimes there are people who really take time to answer questions or discussions that just makes it more informative..

A - Yes, first I always go to my friend's discussions. B - I try to find discussions that interest me so I can reply them. C - No, I haven't. D - 21 E - Never thought about it but I don't mind adding people as friend because in fact about 3/4 of my friend list were requests made to me F - It's cool because we can help each other replying to friend's discussions and try to help them

A) It depends on whether I'm searching for information about a specific topic or whether i'm just looking for somewhere to post. I usually check discussions my friends have started first, but only respond to those where i'm interested and think that i have something positive to contribute on the topic. B) I just use the "discussions my friends have started" tab and go down the list - not too many friends, so easy to get through. C)No D) 6-8 E)yes, it could easily become overwhelming, although right now it is very manageable F)I like it, and I can always change my preferences G) I rate most discussions and posts that I read or reply to - I think that's one of the most important things to do on mylot, because it really has an affect on the quality of the site!

I currently have 29 friends here on Mylot. At first I really didn't realize that you could receive notification when a friend starts a new topic of discussion here on Mylot, so it would be late in the day sometimes before I would think to check on their discussions via the site. But lately, I have turned notification to 'on' for all of the friends that I have, and I try to go through and reply to most of their topics (the ones that I feel I have an answer for, anyway *laugh*) before I reply to much else on the site. I must have replied to about 30 topics early this afternoon just from my friends alone! ^_^

A- Normally the first thing I do is go to discussions my friends have started tosee if there are any new ones to answer. B- Same as A C-I have dropped a few friends for not responding to my discussions or seeing one liners D-I only have 20 mylot friends right now E- I think there would come a point where I would be difficult to keep up with all the discussions my friends have started if I had too many friends, but I sure would try!! F- I love this option. I like to see the diversity of people on here. G- I rate when they post to mine or when I post to theirs. I rate alot, maybe too much!!!

A- yes my friends are the first i check B- typically i just pick at raom C-i have never dropped a friend D-im not sure i think i have around 12 E- i dont think so, the more you have the better probability you have of more responses. typically your friends should respond to your discussions, therefore you should have a few responses to each discussion, and vice vera F- i find this option a little unnecessary, because i accept everybody. G- I always rate my friends, and even those who are not my friends.

Nice discussion =) A. I do ALWAYS look at the "discussions that my friends have started" B. I also try to visit friends every now and then and check their discussions, ofte replying to all that I find interesting, so a friend can find that I all of a sudden replied to several at once =) C. I added all that asked me in the beginnign and ended up with over a 100, I have dropped most of them now =) D. 23 E. No, not as long as they make good discussions F. I do like it coz it makes it easier to find good discussions! G. I try to do it always, and I also rate all that reply to my discussions

I don't understand the figurative in your reply! The discussion is about making priorities on the postings/discussions you are trying to respond.

A- Yes I do. B- I go to Discussions my friends started sometimes. Other times I go to the friends tab and choose a friend at random and answer thier posts and check back to see if they replied to me. I try to choose different people every day. C-I dropped a few people that were spreading hate. Others I dropped because they posted a gazillion one word answer posts and never responded to any of my topics. D-9 pages worth. But I'm slowly editing people out that fall into category C. E- Yes - if you let everyone who wants to add you, add you then you won't be able to find the good dicussions F- I like this option. I can save & find people who post good topics. G- Always.

These are good questions and I think I have an answer to most of them:) A. Yes I do give my friends priority while looking for discussions to respond. B. I most often start with the “Discussions my friends started” section. C. Yes I have deleted so many friends off my list. Firstly because I had no idea why they sent me a friend request nor why I accepted in the first place. Secondly, they weren't responding to any of my discussions. D. I have around 59 friends now. Gosh, I never realised I had so many..time to clean my list again..hehe! E. I don't there is anything as too many. There is no limit on how many good friends you can make here. F. I liek this option because it helps to know who posts good quality responses and also you can help each other out in making more money. G. I rate every discussion I respond to irrespective of the fact they are friends or not.
