Are you comfortable visiting hospitals?

Are you ok visiting others in the hospital? Or do you shy away from going? Do you only go when they are on their death bed and/or having a baby? Does it matter who they are? I ask because my father is in the hospital and I try to visit almost daily, I couldn't think of not going as much as possible. But my brother really hates hospitals and visits once or twice a week (most likely if I have my kids with), I think because he wigs out there. I do know I am visiting as much because it is my Dad and there are others I would not make as much effort to visit.

I don't like visiting hospitals. I go often only if its a close family member and it is essential that I go. Fortunately till now I haven't been admiited into a hospital myself. Once my mom was there and I had to stay with her for a night, it really was difficult, the silence was deafening trust me! But I had to get over all that and take care of her.

I so agree about staying overnight with a loved one. I had to stay overnight with my son a couple months ago and it is very difficult.

It usually makes me feel depressed. especially if i'm visiting because of someone close to me, who is not well at all. in fact, i don't care visiting the hospital because of myself, no matter what. but if i'm visiting my dad, for example i usually get sad and depressed..

I think it's ok to visit others in hospital...may it be your relative or not it will always be good to know that somebody cares. Showing care for others specially those who are sick will definitely help in boosting their morale.

To be honest i really don´t like very much hospitals, but in the case that if someone that i know is there i try to go there to visit, and if it is a familiar i will go everyday.Altough i don´t like hospitals they are essential to our life when we need them.

I don't love hospitals, but they don't freak me out. I will go visit anyone as long as I know that they are up for visitors. There are times when someone is in the hospital and you know that there are tons of people comming and going and they won't be there long...then I won't go. But it has nothing to do with disliking hospitals. I think the more important a person is in your life, the more chances and more often a person goes. Also, the reasoning for being in the hosptical makes a huge differance. Hope your father feels better!

Oh, one of the wors things that i ever had is visiting there. I hate the atmosphere there. And hate the smell that feels there. After all i hate to go to a hospital or even a clinic near by. And we go there when we are in bad condition, no. So hate again...

It's funny because I have worked in an animal hospital and was fine with it, but I hate going to see people in the hospital. I will still go though. Especially if it's something very serious. It somewhat matters who it is, because it's not like I'm in the hospital visiting everyone I hear is in there. I will visit anyone I care about though generally, and also visit someone they care about if it will be a comfort for me to be there.

Well I've had to visit people in the hospital. I don't really like it mostly because I never know what to say. This could be family that I would talk with anyways about anytime but once in the hospital it seems like everything is awkward. I know strange. I also have a phobia dealing with crowded areas so when I do go I try to go when it will be less crowded there. I know sad but at least I do try to go and visit.

Yes I agree with you. Not even my father or my family members, also my friends and neighbours if they are admitted in the hospital, I would like to visit.

Many people do not like visiting hospital because they cannot see the pains of other people and fear to see their sufferings. Its commonly found in ladies as they have small hearts

Hi, I dislike or feel uncomfortable for visiting hospitals because of smell.Once my uncle was in the hospital at that time i stayed as much as i can because i love him a lot.The feeling comes from us only. But, i dislike hospitals. If we like hospitals then someone of our relatives continuously goes on to the beds.

I doubt anyone truly enjoys going to a hospital (unless maybe someone has had a baby or something) because people are usually in there due to illness or injury and no one likes to see people when they are ill but when its a loved one that is ill i don't think not liking hospitals is a reason for not going. My mum has been in and out of hospital recently and i wouldn't say that going to see her in hospital is my idea of a perfect day but there's no way i wouldn't visit her, no matter what my aversion to hospitals, she's in a lot worse position than i am and needs my support

hmm.. I go to the hospital when i'm realy realy sick . But some times i go to check my health , because there are desieses and viruses that aperies in a high staige and hits realy hard but before that they goise in your body for many years so i think i need to be ahead by 2 steps :) , that is my opinion. So what can i say more is just have a nice non rainy day .

Obviously hospitals aren't my favorite place to go, but I don't have a problem going to visit family and friends. I've been very blessed that I haven't had many people in my life who have had to be hospitalized.

I really have an aversion to visiting hospitals (luckily I've never had to be in one for an extended period of time). There is something about them, the smell, everything tht just weirds me out...can't really explain it, I've just always felt that way
