I think 16 is a good choice. I would approve on group dates at 15 if I knew the kids but I was not keen on letting my kids go out with inexperienced drivers. It's just not a good idea to have a bunch of kids in a car with a new driver. All of mine (girls) started dating at 16.
As for boys starting earlier, I don't think I would have done that. Boys usually mature later than girls.
Good topic!

16 is a good age (although scary for lots of parents). Some crazy parents try to wait til 18 but that is just asking for disaster. Then again, I had my first "date" with a guy and a friend of mine at 14! It wasn't a real date though, and my dad drove us to and from the movie. So really, I guess it doesn't count as a date! I would definitely allow boy/girl group dates at 15.

My mom and dad were the same way. I was only allowed to have one, two at the VERY most, friends in the car with me until I had had my license for a while. They said that to many distractions would spell car accident! :)
I see what you're saying with girls maturing sooner than boys, but some people have said that since boys can't get pregnant (of course they don't want to talk about their boys GETTING someone pregnant lol) they should be allowed to date sooner. I think they're nuts!

Reasonably it should be 16 years and above for both sexes. As for curfew, no later than 10pm on weekdays and 12 midnight for weekends.

Those were my curfews. lol Well, I wasn't allowed to go out during the week, especially during the school year. My parents wanted to make sure that we made time for homework and didn't say we didn't have any just so we could go out and "play". Since we weren't allowed to go anywhere or do anything, we might as well get our homework done, especially if it was a report or research paper! Didn't want to have to spend the fee time that we DID get doing homework! :)

Most girls overhere start dating before boys do actually... Most girls start from 15/16 years.

Well either it is a guy or a girl they should be allowed only if they grows upto an age.I think 16 is fine.Yeah girls should be treated diffrently since girls has a lot of things to regret.

We *think* at this time not til they are 15 or 16. I know I started dating at 13 and my parents were okay with that.
I can't see myself letting my kids, especially my daughter, dating at 13, but we'll see.
I'd like to think I don't treat boys and girls differently, but I probably will. The idea of my daughter dating panics me :)
