Misogyny, do we have to deal with it here on myLot?

First of all i must say i'm male and it's so sorry to hear for me that some males cant behave in a good manner when they are replying to a womens topic. Well you ask for solution - there is probably no solution to this problem since you cant limit some behaviour on the forums as much as you cant say all people to be rue. All you can do is to report extremly offensive ones and rate minus the rude ones. Or maybe by giving a fair and decent example we could educate some part of male community here Well i hope it wil get better in the future :)

Finding a cure for Male chauvinism and the Don Juan attitude. Some boys and men think it makes them look strong and tough to women or girls. Basically these type of guys may never get it. But my cure for this problem is to Draft them in the Army or Marines, and see what they really can do with their macho attitude, especially in a war environment. Just a opinion from a old Vet.

I'm sorry, but I don't know that there is a solution!! I mean, you can report him to mylot and explain what he did that was wrong, but because there is such a diversity here, anyone can comment and everyone feels that they should be heard. Honestly, if I was to see someone making an absolute rude comment, I usually make one back...but that is me. Sometimes they get the point while others get their jollies off from it because that is what they want...for people to get angry at them. I know that didn't help, but I hope that it may have helped!!

Hm..what is this misogyny now? i have never heard anything about this till now and it's a new word for me here.Does it mean making fun of women...it seems like that by reading your comments in this discussion and i don't entertainmale domination aor even women domination as for me, i believe in mutual trust and respect on both sides.

HATE has never been good for anyone yet.. It is due to HATE that there are people fighting and killing there own countrymen. (Like in Iraq and In history of India) Hating womens, Hating other religion prople, Hating another country has brought world to war. Why cant people live in harmony is a very good question but yet it is difficult to answer that question. I have seen and met some people who Hate womens and see them as lower than men. Pola, its hard to do anything to change there way of looking at women.. The best alternative would be to aviod such people. You can try to get into verbal fight but its not going to give any results.

It is disgusting, it's worse on other sites than this one and unfortunately women go along with it, I do not admire them for that. solution - just avoid the perpetrators. don't connect with them in any way.

I guess males shouldn't really answer unless they have something positive to say back.

Misogynist men post discussion topics of the same nature "Duh, should women stay home, cook and clean, etc.?" Don't get angry (if you can help it), just have pity on those hormone-driven, ignorant, insecure, miserable people- and be happy you're not one.

I am sorry but I don't think you can put a block on a topic to stop men from coming in. Maybe just put females only on the topic header.

Any man if is misogyny is difficult change,he always will be.He forget that a woman gave him birth and another woman will give birth him children...but I realy come say to you if you don't see it until now ,after I read the topic you told about I check him profile and what I see ... the person is here at mylot 4 months and he has NONE friend....why I'm not surprised???

Well I would think that if enough people reported the incident, his answer would be removed. And then if he kept doing it, they might suspend his account. But of course if he does not know why he was suspended it will not do any good. Unfortunately this is a world community and the worldis full of all sort of people.

there is nothing really you can do. the only things is can do is igron the people, that is only thing, you cant change them for being prejudice against any one women or other men, i seem that happend way too often and i dont like it, but there is really not much you can do.

Misogyny, sexism, homophobia are kinds of racism that I can't stand at all. I think that the only solution is the education: we should teach to our kids that the RESPECT is the most important thing in the world. However I don't think it's good to forbid a person to be racist on myLot, I think that everybody should always say his/her viewpoint, even if it's terrible and we should try to answer in an intelligent way to every racist opinion.
