Is there a sport that gets your attention?

I am not an avid sports fan, however, I find that if I see a basked ball game on, the next thing I know I have picked a side and I am into it. I don’t have a particular team I root for, I just really get into this sport for some strange reason. I reckon because when I yell at that ball, “don’t you go in there”, it works? LOL So please be free to pick #1 or #2 and share. 1) Is there a particular sport you enjoy watching, like me not really a big fan, but enjoy occasionally watching and what is it? 2) Are you a hard core fan of a certain sport? If so what is it about it that gets you so excited? BTW, feel free to give your team a shout out! :-) I read, I rate, but can not reply to all. And as always, a HUGE thanks to all for their reply.

I am a die-hard hockey fan! Hockey is the only sport that I enjoy, actually. I grew up in Buffalo, NY- a true "hockey town", and went to all of Buffalo Sabres home games all through high school with a boyfriend who's family had season tickets (he turned out to be a loser, but what I wouldn't do for those tickets now! lol ). I have never lost interest in hockey or the Sabres, and watch every single televised game- if I have something else going on, I get really anxious about missing the game! The Sabres are tied for #1 in the NHL right now- they're on fire this year, and they ARE going to bring home the Stanley Cup in the spring! Sorry for boasting- but you did say that it was OK!!

I love watching football. Actually i'm watching it right now on tv. I love the excitement when cheering on my favourite team Arsenal. It gets rid of all my stress although sometimes I feel like i'm having a heart attack during certain games, especially when they play Man U or Chelsea who I hate!!! Cricket is another, although I watched the Ashes and felt depressed for days. Seeing Australia win them back was awful! I used to be a real Boxing fan and always watched the live fights from America. Lennox Lewis, Nigel Benn and Prince Naseem were my fav. We have a couple of good boxers now but it's not like the old days. Also I love the Olympics, especially track and field. I admire these athletes and their dedication to their sport. However, I am not a sporty person myself. I just love the adrenalin rush while sitting on my sofa!!!

I am not a huge fan of sports and really don't have any favorite teams. But I have to say that I don't mind watching some baseball and really like the Seattle Mariners. Plus I don't mind some soccer since my husband is such a HUGE fan.

I am not a sports fan too but love to watch Basketball, Football (which my hubby explained to me recently) and also figure skating. Skating has always fascinated and I finally made up my mind and learnt it too. I began watching these games only after I came to the US. Here its almost inevitable that you know football, coz its always the topic of any conversation anytime. I always root for Dallas teams, Cowboys and the Mavericks.

Formula 1 motor racing ... I haven't missed a grand prix in years and years .. even when I have been in hospital I have watched my beloved F1 .. I wrote blogs on it .. read everything about it .. and during the F1 season starts in March everything stops on an F1 weekend .. when it's time for the race on tv .. I turn off the phone .. shut the curtains .. and that's it I don't move until after the race is over ...

I always enjoy watching basketball. It's quick and graceful (usually) and I can follow it having had a brother who played varsity basketball in high school. I find other team sports including baseball and especially football boring UNLESS philadelphia has a champioship game. (That only happens ionce or twice in a lifetime)...I always like to watch nonteam winter sports like sking and iceskating. Both of which I've enjoyed doing. I Can't understand sports in the hot sun and I've never really been a teamplayer so I suppose that explains it.

I dont really know what makes me like it so much, but I do, does any on eelse like it? My favourite brand of WWE is Smackdown, and my favourite Wrestler is The Undertaker, and secondly Hulk Hogan. They are both the best in history of the WWE.

Yes, my favorite sport is Basketball. I have watch a team blossom from nothing to NBA Champions when they were not winning. Yes, that right you guessed it, the Miami Heat. I watch them form a bond between 15 guys and their Coach Pat Riley (wish him all the best during surgery and pray for a speedy reovery). I feel that they are all my sons, I watch them grow. It's a cohesive family unit. Humble they are, believe and trust each other to be there for them off the court as well as on the court. It's also a faster pace game and it gives you that up close and personal feeling with them verse Football, Hockey and Baseball. That's just my opinion. And the NBA do care. They do live what they preach, never turn their back on regular everyday people. My favorite players are Dwayne Wade, Shaq, Udonis Haslem, Jason William, Alonso Mourning and James Posey. Now the younger player began to blossom, like Jason Kaponno and Darell Wright. They are winner off the court as well as on the court. Also like to watch the Denver Nuggets. It's something to get excited about.

I like watching poker matches on TV. I don't know if you can call that a sport or not. I think of it as one, as much as it is publicized and on television nowadays!*laugh* I tend to get into watching odd sports on tv, like bowling. I've never been a really huge fan of any one sport. I have watched an occasional game of football and soccer. A friend of mine was really into hockey and I also watched part of a hockey game once or twice. But I'm really not a hugely sporty person.*laugh*

my favorite sport is horseshoe throwing/ it's relaxing and enjoyable, and extremely competitive/ i'm waiting to see if it becomes an Olympic sport/ it would definitely be part of the Summer Olympics, unless an indoor arena is used/ heater fans could be used to keep the horseshoes warm, and well, as far as the athletes, they would just do their best to stay warm/ after all, it's the Olympics, baby......... "After Taivska's throw, Shakeitha will really need a great throw to impress the judges...Shakeitha focuses, she balances, here's the windup, she throws, Woe Nelly! what a throw!"

Well if you are not a die hard fan of sports and though you like sports its no problem. You can choose which ever team you want. As for me I do like sports, not a fanatic and won't loose sleep over a loss, but I do root for all teams from New York. As I am also from New York.

If there is a sport that I get into, I would have to say it's UFC fighting. My husband watches it a lot and I find myself just sitting there. Like you, before I know it, I am rooting for one or the other. I sorta get into and start jumping up and down. Kick his butt lol. I guess it is becasue of how much I enjoy martial arts movies and such. My next favoite is stock car races. My dad and his friend raced when I was younger. So I grew up on a dirt track.
