Athena--she was the goddess of wisdom and the patron of Athens. She was also a goddess of war, and sprang fully formed from Zeus' head. Now that's a woman to respect. happy mylot day.

excuse me Kavita, but.... why "was"? Athena IS the Goddess of wisdom, of war (but not the Goddess who attacks, but the Goddess who guards or protects against attack, there is difference between Athena and Ares). She is also the patroness of useful crafts. We could say that Ares suggested Bush to attack Iraq, not Athena.

I've more feeling with Roman pantheon because I'm italian, many greek Gods are in Roman pantheon too with a diffrent name, but not all. There are Roman Gods that are not in Greek pantheon. Finally, to reply to your question, I respect all Gods (don't laugh.. it's a Religion and in Grece there are many ellenic pagans, the cult is Official! not as in Italy....where Church rules and prohibits other cults). Athena is a beatufull Goddess, she's wise and strong. All Goddess are beautiful...

No one laughs, dear Astarte, our Gods and Goddesses are more serious than people can image. I'm Italian too, but my earth is all for Greece, not much for Rome, and I never call Gods and Goddesses with Roman/Italian names, I always try to use their Greek names.

I always go for Artemis and Athena when asked this question but the more I think about it the more I add as there are elements in all the Greek Gods that appeal. It all depends what I am doing with my life at the time.
