This type of question used to be on my mind all the time EXACTLY when I was your AGE .Its because we start to explore our position in the society , our "rank" and why we get the stuff we consume and whether we ,without the help of our parents,would be able to procure the same stuff .To me it was a painful period , because it didn't make sense to me that on the one hand I don't want my parents to have anything to say about ANYTHING related to me ,on the other hand I am only living because of my parents sponsorship ! the fact that (i thought) i wouldnt be able to survive on my own was humiliating to me in secret . YOU KNOW HOW I RESOLVED THAT CONTRADICTION ? I would convince myself that if i should ever find myself with no succour , I would just sit down and DIE ,so that my dignity as an independent human is whole . YOU KNOW WHAT I SHOULD HAVE THOUGHT ? Today , i think it would have been healthier to me if i had suspended my study in the university and tried to explore my options as a human INDEPENDENTLY ,without my parents . If only I had the courage , I would have realised that without my parents , I still could survive , only it will be A LITTLE difficult for me to complete whatever it was i wanted to do , but NOT IMPOSSIBLE . Its not a coincidence we have to wonder and imagine what to do in this situation , the same reason we feel being alone with noone to turn to is frightening is the same reason we are not likely to BE in such a situation in the first place, BECAUSE ALL OUR LIVES WE HAVE BEEN SHELTERED AND DOING MORE THAN JUST SURVIVING :- #should we find ourselves in such a conditon where mere survival is challenging , we might be shocked initially from not being accustomed . #we will easily find it easier to survive and stand on our feet than,for example,people who have been in that situation all their lives , because such people ,mere survival being their highest ambition for a whole lifetime,would NOT have had the time nor the means WE had for learning,training ,and accumulating a PROTECTIVE COAT of "BODY FAT" which would sustain us till we get our bearings again .
