Has anyone tried the detox patches for your feet? What type have you used? Have you found them any good? Did you use them for long?
I have been trying them for the last couple of days and I have to say I feel more energetic and my sleep has been better. I'm just wondering should I used the full set of patches for five nights in a row, or just use one every so often. :/

BittyBiddy, this is amazingly timely for me that you've posted this!! I've been under treatment for over a year now for high BP and one of the other problems is unexpected swelling in my legs.
I've never in my life experienced such swelling. After many tests and eliminating just about every other possibility, my doctor has determined that the problem likely rests in the lymphatic system, which she says cannot be treated with standard medical processes such as meds.
I read a website about these detox patches and they are indicated for lymphatic problems with one of the potential benefits being a reduction of swelling! I'm going to have to seriously look into this to see where and how I could get some or order some of these patches (in Canada). I am willing to try anything to get rid of some of the swelling... it's actually so bad that, I can press into my calf and be left with a visible "dent" for quite awhile.
Here's one site I was looking at, since others seemingly haven't heard of these either... there's lots of info out there but this is just a place to start if anyone's interested:

BittyBiddy, if you do continue with the patches, I'd be really interested if you continue to post your impressions of them. Thanks again, so much, for posting this discussion! :)

Maybe you should give these a go then thinkingoutloud. They might be of some help.
I didn't wear them last night because it was late when I went to bed, but I'm going to wear them again tonight.

A friend of mine has used these as she suffered a lot from joint pains. Since starting to use them, she says she feels less pain and she sleeps a lot better at night. She also claims that they reduce stress. She uses them at night on the soles of her feet and behind her knee joints and says they work on the same principle as reflexology. I would love to try them, but I will wait to read some of your response first.

I heard that you can use them on the back and shoulders too. I think when I get more I will probably try this. I'm not sure whether you're supposed to use them for so many days at a time though. So I need to find this out.

Just out of curiosity...I was looking around the web trying to find out about these. I saw a picture somewhere of the patch, and an "after" picture where it was all gross looking like it was full of dirt or something...I was just curious if that's really what happens. Does the patch look different when you take it off?

Yes, it does look different. My patches are actually really dark when I take them off. The woman who was telling me about them said that hers were black the first night, but got lighter after that.

ahh yeah that's exactly what it said should happen.
Like as you get "detoxified" the patches pull out less gunk.

I have no idea what these are....would you mind telling me what they're called so I can see if we have them over here?

Hi tictac
They're basically foil backed pouches filled with some sort of chinese herbs that help detox the system as well as promoting sleep and easing stress. The ones I have are Chi detox patches and I think they've a website too. I'm sure you'll be able to get them over there and probably much cheaper too. :)

I don't know if we have the chi kind over here, everywhere I found them on the web was UK...but on Amazon they do have them they're just other brands. I'm interested cause I never heard of them, and since I'm a medical student it seems like something I ought to know about. I might order some. Maybe I can blame my tiredness on all the toxins. =)

I've tried the Detox patches manufactured by a Malyasian company and it worked beautifully. It had a mixture of various herbs which helped in energising the body, improving sleep and in the detoxing process. It was grouse to see how much toxins I had..hehe. I think all of us should use these patches on a regular basis. It is recommended to use them 5 days/nights at a stretch so you should do it too. The first time I used it I had this strange tingling sensation in my feet,it didn't last for very long though. It's been a while since I detoxed myself..guess it's time for one!

Greengal, did you find the patches got lighter in colour as you used them? I heard from someone else that if you have never detoxed before then you should use these patches for up to 30 days.

I really wanted to try them, actually, but there was an expose on Watchdog about how, basically, it's all a load of crap, and the fact that people BELIEVE they will work is why you really feel better after using them.
I think this also applies to the salon treatments that claim to do the same thing...

This could be true I don't know. But, even if it's psychological that you feel good, isn't that in itself a good thing? :)

I haven't tried the detox patches but I have tried the detox foot bath, and I think somehow they do have the same concept, yes, it made me feel better after detox sessions. I think you should follow instructions in order for you to be 'totally' detoxed. Like for the detox foot bath, they suggest 14 sessions every other day for the initial treatment, then once a month for maintenance. I believe you should follow the instructions for you to feel the benefits completely. They wouldn't suggest you use a specific number of patches (in your case) for a specific number of nights if it's not the best ahm shall we say way for the patches to completely work.
well, that's my opinion ^_^

I've heard of these before but enver tried them, though i know Avon do them and ahve been tempted to get some for as while, though a friend said they just absorb the muck out of your feet to make it look like you've been de-toxed, but i wondered if they do actually have an effect like reflexology?
