Teachers that make things hard on their students

I have a teacher this semester that seems to be making a class a lot harder than it should be. Instead of regular teachers, he is making us outline every chapter in our book and turn it in every day we have class..which is on the day we discuss the chapter in class. That means I have to do an outline..or quite possibly more..two or more, each week. It certainly isnt fair and really frustrates me. What do your teachers do that really tick you off?

Are you serious? That's nothing. I had teachers who would cuss at their students and totally destroy their work. Teachers that made students cry in class -- and I mean college students! Two assignments a week is NOTHING. In highschool, I had a teacher who was nice, as a person, but one time she told us to read an entire book in two days for a written test. Trust me, you have it easy.

The thing that makes this bad is I have other issues with other teachers, and trying to work, and get in what I need to get in for this class, certainly doesn't help me accomplish tasks for other classes. I have to try and shove an extra 30 hours in for this semester, while doing these 4 page outlines, and all of this other crap.

Hmm, maybe I sounded like I was putting down your problems, but that wasn't what I meant. I meant that it's normal to have to juggle schedules, assignments and all the other things. If you actually have a life when you're a student, you're not studying hard enough ;) Best of luck with your studies.

No it's not that. I'm just saying, he's quite a perfectionist really..and it has to be done a certain way, and certain things have to be included..and to make matters worse..he doesn't always clarify exactly what he means. It's frustrating when you try and do what he wants, but he seems to change what he wants, to what he said..if that makes any sense, lol.

I haven't gone to school in years but I certainly feel your pain. I had one english lit teacher that required a seperate binder just for his class. He told us exactly how to set it up and then he would collect it UNANNOUNCED every few weeks. If you were missing anything from your binder you got a bad mark. Just little things that these teachers do to drive their students to the brink; I think. I would also like to say that my daughter had a teacher in 1st grade that was so messed up. Couldn't get my daughter's name right. One day they did these paper cut out boats and she took my daughter's and a few other students work - crumpled it up and tossed it in the trash. Needless to say my daughter came home crying.

That's sad. I don't see how teachers can do that to children, especially students at such a young age. I'd never do that.

I had some high school teachers once that make fools out from us students. She actually calls us all as "creatures", as if she'd been the most supreme being in the whole classroom. In fact she was our english teacher, to which she always treats us all as mindless human-beings. It really made us all kinda disappointed at her, we all know that is somewhat of a form of harrassment to all of us.

Well i am actually out of school but will be going back to become a teacher in September and i don't think that confusing a student is fair. As for my complaint i always had a rough time getting along with my science teachers all through junior high!

Don't bash me here, alright? But I think, that there is nothing wrong (and in fact something good) with what your teacher is doing. By making you do an outline, it might seem time-consuming and tedious at the on-start, but this outline really helps to you understand the topic better. It allows you to focus too. And come examination time, this outline is going to be very handy. Instead of poring through the entire content, this 1-piece outline will cut your study time by A LOT.

I agree that it does cut study time, but study time can also be cut just by highlighting a few simple sentences or what not in the book. These outlines make up the bulk of our grade unfortunately. However they do help keep you afloat.
