love and trust and yes you build on them the whole time you are together make the relationship stronger Was married 421/2 years and had to work on it all the time but then I lost him to cancer and the love still goes on

The most important thing I think in a relationship is trust. I think if there is no trust how can there be love? I trust my husband but if he ever lost my trust it would take a lot to build it back up if at all. :)

The most important thing in a relationship is honesty. Trust, character, etc. come later.

For a relationship to be succesful it is important that the ones in the relationship understand and trust each other. They are so many kinds of realtionships and one needs to define what it is specifically before he/she becomes a part of it. For example in a marriage, the husband and wife need to know each other well, understand each other's needs, love, care and assure themselves the other is around when they need someone. Feelings and emotions are part of a relationship and they could make or mar the realtionship if gone overboard.

What most important to Him: 1. Trust 2. Appreciation (Reward) 3. Acceptation What most important to Her: 1. Care 2. Respect 3. Understanding This is the core. What they need and what we need, and the mutual love is happened automatically in my relationship. I know how it works, and my spouse is applying for it too.

I would say trust, honesty, and patience. From friends of mine who are married, I'd say they're all important.
