well Went to the park two days ago and decided to detect alittle, about 15 minutes after hitting the volleyball courts, I snagged a silver ring with pick CZ crystals in it. Then after this annoying child wouldn't leave me alone, I ventured to another part of the park and soon after getting there, my detector went off, I snagged another silver ring. A Avon pave inital ring with the K inital, worth $20.00, lol. was happy, momma got a new ring! :) krissy

You better report it to the police so that i will be returned to the rightful owner. because it may symbolize somthing for them. And you can afford to let them break something because of that.

well that wouldn't be the point of metal detecting then would it? Florida has a law, whatever you find on the beach between the low tide line and the dunes is finders keepers. and so whatever found at the local parks is also finder keepers. :) krissy

ever though of putting it in the paper in the lost and found section? Don't give all the detail just a nid bit so people will have to tell you more to claim it.....if they don't then after 2 months claim them as yours.

Sounds like you are having fun with your metal detector. I have been at the beach before and seen people with them. That's cool that you found a ring with the inital "K" cause that's my initial.

Your hobby sounds like a lot of fun,i wish i can have a metal detector too :).Anyway, they have a park here in arkansas where you can go and hunt for diamonds. There have been a lot of people who really find diamonds. You have to pay a ticket to go to the site.My husband and i are planning to visit there this coming summer.I saw it on travel channel and i also saw that there's a particular beach there in florida that you can find old coins, you know what i mean. You have a cool hobby, keep it up.

My brother lives down the road from the old dump. This would come in handy to scan for treasures. I am sure there are many.

old dumps are always excellent for treasure. the older the better. You can find old coins, jewelry, and many other things. :) Another thing before dumps they had outhouses. you don't just thing outhouses were for going to the bathroom do you? they used it as their dump too. They threw in things they didn't want anymore. Now many after all this time everything is now decomposed and good for digging. but be careful when digging these they contain broken glass and maybe other things. krissy

I have always thought a metal detector would be fun. Some of our parks prohibit their use, but there are lakes and stuff where they would be allowed. My husband says all he can think of is the stereotypical old man in bermuda shorts looking for treasures. He doesn't want one. Do you have any recommendations about how to select one, or where to buy? I do have my myLot earnings to spend.LOL

well it's not like that anymore, in fact alot of women now hunt. I have only been hunting for a year, So I'm still learning too, but I read everything I can on hunting and it pays off in the longrun. :)I do extensive research. You can also find me on the treasure hunting forum www.findmall.com look for the beach section I only buy my detectors at www.kellycodetectors.com krissy I'm on there as Tiggyann. :)

That's cool! My father in law does the same thing with his metal detector, and you know what he found about 150 in coins in just one afternoon. I could not believe it. I asked to use his, but he said he would have to get a percentage of what I get. Guess that's why he rich and I am not. By they was he was very serious, he does that with everything. I think that I will purchase one as a late birthday present.

omg, for real, he wants a cut too? when I take people with me whatever they find they get to keep, even though it's my machine. I just make them pay for the batteries to use the machine. well it's a great investment, keeps you healthy, etc. :) krissy

That is really cool that the ring happened to have a "K". My intitial is "K" also. It sounds like you find some great stuff. My mom has always wanted a metal detector. A beach would be a good place to use one. I don't have a beach were I live but my mom does. Her B-Day is coming up, I should get her a detector.

thanks...well you don't have to live near a beach to metal detect, you can detect around lakes, parks, anywhere people congregate. krissy
