Cheating in School

I once heard that a vast majority of people either cheat or have cheated in school and that most don't get caught. I personally think that cheating is only hurting yourself and the people you plan to help with your education. But, many see it as a way to "get ahead". What do you think? Have you ever cheated? Has it helped your life? Do you think it's worth it?

I've actually never cheated, though I doubt anyone would believe me because it is so commonplace. I believe that the only one I'm competing against is myself. I am actually so grateful that I've never done it because it's developed my mind in many different ways. But, yes, it is very common. I just wonder two things: 1. Why? 2. Later in your adult life, has it benefitted you in any way? Anyone who wants to answer this can.

i am still at school and i can say that i have cheated ! I always prepare myself and study before an exam so i don't need to cheat ! It just happens rarely ! I have never been caught because i am creative and hide the information where noboy would suspect it :P

Thanks for your honest answer. Why do you cheat? It would seem that you wouldn't need to anyway. (I'm just asking out of curiosity, not to be rude).

Cheating gets you ahead but in actual sence it reduces your dignity and self confidence. I fell into this temptation once in my school das because everybody was cheating and I thought I could do it, behold I was cought. I vowed never to do it again. It actually does not worth it to cheat because the shame and disgrace you recieve if you are caught outweight the success expected.

Thanks for your honesty about your feelings. I often wondered why people did it and what they achieved from it. I think I would have felt less of myself if I had done it.
