Lying on resumes

Have you ever lied on your resume? Did you get caught? Were you able to do the job well even though you may not have had the full qualifications? I'm not talking about highlighting accomplishments, I'm mostly talking about outright lies. Just curious. I have never lied on my resume, if anyone wants to know.

Interesting topic. No I have never lied on my resume but I have embellished on occasion. By this I mean using more distingquished sounding titles then say sales clerk-instead I would write personal customer assistant. Things such as this. I do resumes for most of my friends and family because embellishments can get you the job in fact many of my friends told me that during the interview they were told it was the best resume they had ever seen. No lies just different wording can make all the difference. Another example could be when listing hobbies say you are a memeber of mylot well creative writting would be your hobbi.

Yes. In my opinion, using better words to describe your work positions is not lying. In fact, I took a class on resume writing and they say to do exactly what you said. Lying on a resume, to me, is saying that you held positions you never held or worked at places you never worked. I've also heard of people getting their friends involved in case their resume is checked. I wonder how well they did the job, if they did end up getting it.
