friend if u want to buy a pc dont hear others words..u will get confused...just think by ur self and select the best one...different people say different opinion in such things...then one thing i will say if u r a intermedeate user please dont take laptop now...it is useless for average users...if u are business related person u can take it...otherwise take a home pc i think assembled pc is better than branded one...its because different companies are at their best at particular porduct....that is the best motherboard available is intel...it is far better than asus then the best cd writer is asus than samsung or LG without saying ur budget we cannot give you an esitmate then one thing take 15 inches samsung monitor....17 inches causes much power consumption...then TFT monitors are costly but wont last long... the harddisk i own is samsung...no problms for it till now..its almost 4 years old...then use v guard ups it is good...if u want printer buy cannon

Let's see...if you're confused, just think about three things: 1. Budget 2. Specifications 3. Performance Now, if you are considering the budget I suggest you go get yourself a desktop because it's way more cheaper than a laptop. Don't go for branded desktop computers because it will give you a hard time in the near future when you're doing maintenance. If you know, how to assemble a computer, much better because you could carefully choose which part you want for your system. Second, the specifications...the higher the specifications, the more expensive it could get. So I suggest you first decide where you'll use your new computer and have someone help you regarding the parts that you'll need in order for a certain criteria. Lastly, performance. Even if you buy a desktop (assembled or branded) or a laptop you must know up to how much it can give you. You could run some benchmarking tests in order to know about a system's performance. Concentrate on these three things I mentioned above and you'll never go wrong. (^_^)

If you want to buy nothing is better then that. Laptop rocks. The most advantageous point in laptop is its flexibilty and its ease in use. If you have the option in having a laptop or having a branded pc I would recommend you to have a laptop either branded or even assembled one.

but for internet or gaming use i think it would be suitable to take a pc better than a laptop i would take a laptop if i don't like any pc which suites me or i don't like it!!!!!!!!

i suggest that you assembled it yourself. coz its much cheaper than buying a assembled one or a branded pc. btw. how much is your budget for a new pc.and what will you do to the pc.will u edit videos, pictures etc. and if your going to use it for resource heavy app i suggest getting a desktop pc rather than a laptop. coz u will have a much larger headroom and you can eventually upgrade it to a much higher spec.

It depends what kind of work you will do on it. because for certain purposes you need computers with certain specs. If you do heavy stuff and deal with animated stuff.. graphics and movies I prefer you would buy a mac. one of my friend is using an ibook and and she is very happy with it. but if you are a pc user and you are only comfortable with pc then i guess you should go for a pc. but you really need to know b4 that why you need one . i mean for woh kind of stuff you will be using it. I perfer IBM. and SONY and HP are good too. they are new in the market..

well if you want your web and gamin' experience to be best i think you should go for the branded one!coz it has the genuine windows installed which gives you a better experience than a assembled one... and many (most of)the assembled pcs has a pirated version of windows which has some critical BITS missin'.... and with the original windows you can get unlimited free updates from microsoft! i myself own a WinXp media center pc and works great! i right now have latest updates installed includin' IE7 and WMP11 so go ahead dude,go for a branded one! and if you want a assembled one make sure that it has genuine windows cya

Okay, You sound like a person who wants to enjoy their computer not someone who wants to worry about maintaining and understanding it. So my recommendation is a Mac. Apple has awesome customer support, when I bought mine they had the lowest out of the failure rate. They are much more stable then windows, though you can install and run Windows if you decide to walk on the wildside. You don't have to worry about viruses and they are much more intuitive then Windows. I can't say enough about my Mac, I love it. If you are a student, you can get a discount and you can also buy them refurbished sometimes at 30% off with the same new computer warranty. My friend had a problem with her much older Mac, way outof warranty, I could not believe when they took care of the problems it had and did not charge her. Seriously, take a look at them.
