A large percentage of people now work shifts, either in the form of 6 AM to 2 PM and 2 PM to 10 PM on alternate weeks or regular night shifts. I normally work 1 PM to 10 PM on a regular basis and have no problem with it. Do you find that shift working is convenient or does it interfere with your social and family life?

I think until and unless you are not working in late night shifts you and your family can manage it. But while going for night shifts you really lose out a lot of your social time and soon it starts to irritate your family members. They feel that you are doing it for your own selfish reasons and they look it as a detachment from the family concerns.

Yes, I truly believe that working in evening and night shift will create lots of problems for your health and social life too.
I am working in an international call center. I am working in all three shifts ( morning, night and afternoon ). My shift rotate every month, its very difficult for your body to adopt such changes on a very frequent base.
God has created night to sleep and day to work. Our body is made in such a way that, it feels sleepy in the night no matter how many hours you have slept in the day.
It creates lot of problems for your social life too. If you are working in night shifts, you will going to sleep the most of the time of day. So, you will not have enough time to intreact with people and your family member too.
I really wants to get out of this shift work now.

Since work should be top priority in your lifestyle.. why not work around it? Without work you won't be able to afford your lifestyle... so don't complain.
