if people say my child's name wrong, yes I would correct them especially if they know me and the child. I think it should matter that you correct people especially when the child is young so that way they will know how to exactly pronounce their name when they aren't around the parents.

Yes, I do correct them. My oldests name is Rebecca so we don't have a problem with her name. But my youngest is Jillian. She gets Julian all the time... I'm not sure why they mess it up so much. I guess Jillian isn't that common of a name. But yes, I do correct them if the pronounce it wrong.

Yes i would. What is your childs name that you have to correct them ? my daughters name is cadence and people always say candice, kadden, candence, ok people its not that hard CA DENCE. lol i really dont know why they have trouble with it. its mostly old ladies i guess. so maybe its just because they have not heard the name before so they just hear whatever it is they want to hear

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't... it's Nadine (pronounced with a long a, they always pronounce it with a short a) anyway when I'm mad I call her Nadina...

I usually have to correct people on my childrens names. One of my children they always switch the letters to make up another name. They put a m where I had put a n. Like I don't know how to spell my own childs name. My oldest child most don't even try to say the whole name. They just get to "CR" and I say her name for them.

Yes, I correct people when they pronounce my children's names wrong. They are not outrageous names, not hard to pronounce. I've heard people add letters that aren't even in the name. I named my kid that name for a reason. As for our last name, it can be pronounced 3 different ways. I just go with it.

yes it really does matter to me because child's name really effect on his/her personality and if eevrybody mispell their name then original name will be fade off. and even child may learn his/her name with wrong pronunciation as children are great pickers. So we should stop others while doing such things. And i think it is good for bringing up good socializing.

It does not matter to me that they pronounce my sons name wrong. However if you don't correct them the first time, as the relationship builds it could become akward. Also if you don't correct them and they say it wrong in front of other people down the road, they could be embarassed.

Most people only need to be corrected once. Many will ask how to pronounce a name before trying. This is very considerate.

Yes! Her name is common so I would hope that they would not mess it up. But I would because they need to know how to read names. If it was something that is uncommon then I still would but I would also chukle about it too. I just can not stand when they say our last name wrong. 4 letters and they still mess it up!
