I have accepted friends requests on here but I just joined yesterday and I'm not really sure what the friends lists are for. Can someone please explain the friends list to me please? Thanks a lot.

Im also a newbie here however adding friends to mylist is such a great pleasure. And the fact that you are updated whenever they have a new discussions.

I like being notified also of my friends posts. It is alot easier for me to find their new ones.

For me my friends list is made up of people who have the same interests as me. So I know that most of the time when they post a new discussion, it'll probably be about something that I want to contribute to.

Same here. I can really relate to most of my friends topics and discussions. It is alot easier when you have them sent to your mailbox. I have all of my friends alerts turned on except for a couple of them so far.

Some of them have answered my discussions also. All of my friends usually post topics I can join in and relate to also.

i think its great, you can interact with people and you know your friends are going to answer your questions and add to your arguments

That was my question too when I first joined. At first I thought maybe these people who ask to be included in your friends list would want you to reply to their discussions and vice versa, later I found out that this is not the case. I felt obligated to answer their postings but unfortunately, only one or two are replying to my discussions, most responses are coming from people outside my list. Even then I was lucky enough to find few whom I feel I can relate to.

Hello. I go to the new discussions list and reply to anything that see that I can relate to or have an answer for. I have seen or heard somehwere on here that you earn more from people replying to your posts. But I really dont know. do you? I know you earn more from referring people, but thats all i know so far. thanks alot for replying to me. Greatly appreciated.

It depends on exactly what you want to do. Some persons make friends on mylot to continue the frienship outside mylot but i rarely see it happen. Some make friends for purposes of referrals. And some find it easier to answer to discussions if a name is included in the friends list. So in that way they would be able to answer the discussions their friends post.

The relevance of this reply is lost now. But still i respond as i thought to make my point. I use my friends list to reply their good posts and also to get good response from them. I make an invite only if i feel their topics and way of thinking can match that of mine and not based on the number of posts made by them. I do not beleive that any one can be rich here by getting glued to the key board, may be able to raise a good amount if one is a referral freak. But we are compelled to add to the list since no one would like to reject a friendship offer.
