Why aren't women allowed to age but men are 'sexier' as they get older?

I have heard a million times if not a million and ten that men are allowed to age and that they are 'better looking' as they get older. Younger women are in pursuit of older men these days and in previous eras of civilization women were married off as young as possibly (age 12-16) while the men that were eligible and attractive prospective husbands were in their (30's, 40's and sometimes even their 50's) Nowadays we would call those cradle robbing dirty old men!
However you see it all the time older men with very young women on their arms. Women however as we age are told that aging is a depreciating factor to our overall viability within our men's lives. There is surgery, and lotions, potions, pills, and 'retreats' for women to attempt to slow the aging process as much as possible so as to still look great as we approach our middle years.
My question is this: Do you believe that a woman is a more or less valuable mate after she passes 45 or 50?
And what is the obsession with telling us that we can't age a day past 26 while men may sag, bag, and silver as they see fit? Is this a bunch of B.S or what?

I am over 50 and have seen some great looking women my age. Quit paying attention to all the nonsense about aging. It will drive you crazy trying to live up to the media's dream of what you should be.
Women past the age of 45 or 50 are extremely attractive in many cases. Go ahead while you are young and decide you are going to do everything you can to stay fit and healthy for the rest of your life. If you do that, aging will take care of itself.
When you are 40,50, or 60, you will still look very attractive and radiant. This because you have taken care of yourself mentally and physically. It is up to you to decide how you want to treat your body. Turn off the TV, throw away the magazines, and live life on your terms. I guarantee that if you take care of yourself as you age, there will be men of all ages willing to be involved with you.

if a gal says she likes a 40 year old man and not a 20 year old guy then wat can the 20 yr old guy do ?

Some women are ageless.and some are not.Lifestyle has a lot to do with it.Live fast...age fast.Take the cake but if ya wanna taste too...thats a whole nother price.Men just throw they money at the young and dumb one's.That's there youth, $$$$.Funny thing is ..is that week women buy into it.A women that has real class is ageless.You can be pretty for a blip...but if ya don't have class then ya missed the boat.I'll take a classy ,so called older women over a cheap young one any day.

It's a myth.... Most women age very well while men do not and George Clooney is merely the exception that proves the rule!

I think it is because of the society, they think that it is ok for man to age but for women, once you reach the age 30 you are already old. As they say, for man, life begins at 40.

It is not true that only men age sexier versus women. Many women I've known do not even look their age. They look 20 years younger. Ask them how they obtain such great looks and figures, the answer is simple; be happy, have sufficient sleep and don't worry to much.

I think this is because of the genetics in the humans body however the men work a lot than women and from my knowledge the more strong the less they age according to the looks that means the more they struggle to work the more sexier they look u can just have a try having a look at some one who is sexier in older days and ask them did you leave easily or you have struggled a lot to lead your life.

I think its all a big bag of BS! i dont get why older men are considered Sexier, and why women arent considered the same when they age! to me it all sounds sexist, chauvinistic crap! spread by insecure craddle robbing old men! (sorry just had to borrow your pharse) and whats worse women nowadays have fallen heavily for it!

I think its a right thing. The woman are not less valuable but due to some hormones Woman's gets less sexuality by age.
on the other hand woman's become young so fast as in 12 or 13 yrs.
also if u saw girls which are lesser age means around 15-16
are look for boys while boys are do same thing after 17-18
it all because of hormones nothing else.

Women do not age as gracefully as men! I could rephrase your question this way,
Why is there a role reversal as genders age! The value of a young male limited to his work ability, while a young woman has a much higher value based on looks alone! As they get older a males value is based on looks and a womans on work ability, but because of aging, neither reachs the level of their counterpart.

Because we live in a society where men have to be older and wiser and women have to stay the same, but things are not that way anymore. I live in a family where women outlive, outrank, outclass, and outdo men in everything. Men are rare and do not live long, women can own anything (I am the third woman in line to inherit my house), and women rule (my Grandmother is the matriarch and supreme authority on every matter of relations in my family). I live in almost an Amazonian family. We mostly only use men to mate with, after that, they die out.

Dear It's the majority which effects your topic.
Commonly a man is more motivated by a young and sexy figure to be involved.
But women are the oposite. If they see a freshly young guy with no previous experience they just treat him as a child and not a mate partner.
Women seek for confidence and little experience in male for satisfaction. But Men look for fresh blood.
Thats how I think Isn't it quiet suitable for ur question.
A valuable mate partner is one who is respected , trustworthy and caring person.

I think aging bothers men, too. They just aren't as likely to admit it. I think part of the reason that historically it's been encouraged for young women to marry older men is because of money. Older men are more responsible and established in life. They're a safer bet in many ways. Not saying its right, but I think that's had a lot to do with it.
I don't think that a women is less valuable as she ages. I guess it's all in what you are looking for though. If you want to have children then obviously some women would be ruled out.

when love take place it should be in such a manner that upto the last moment of life the wife is the most important person in life.but one thing we have to accept that if we love a girl sincere and she is precious then she is our wife upto the last.men who consider like that will be his girl friend and wife up to the last.that is love and those who make love as a joke or need then the result will be as such

Hi Sharone......no its not true...its been proven already and u dont have to doubt it...as we age whether your a man or a woman, we usually encounter several changes in our body....like sagging skins here and there, slower metabolism which causes the body to grow fat...well, it really is the same to both men and women...its just that misconception that men are appreciating while women are depreciating..its up to the woman to take care of herself....she needs to exercise, eat the right food and as well, as yeah, do all that she can in order to maintain the flawlessness.......
