in my life one thing i seem to miss at times is the absense of some one whose footsteps i could follow. do some of you feel the same way ?

Similar to marie, and like yourself am a leader. But I think I can relate in some way. Even though I had a father, he was not a supportive influence in my life at all. There have been times when I think my decisions are based on me hoping it will work out and not a sense of confidence in myself. I feel at times I am totally on my own in what I do. I sigh and wish I had more support, and I have really. I think my lack of support is not so much intellectual, but the need for a hug every now and then and someone to say you're doing fine. Only recently have a found a bit of peace of mind, before it was flying on the seat of my pants.

Thx techie, i guess you got the feeling right. its the encouraging hug more than the actual lead you by the nose kind of stuff i was talking about. you do have the faith inyour own abilities - which gives you the confidence, despite the fact that you don't call it that. there is always a small feeling of being chancy and hoping for things to work out when situations are ambigous. but i guess those of us who go ahead and do things, do actually possess the self confidence to make thigs work. here's a hug - go ahead and do it - it may work.

That was a nice hug. Thank you. And here's one back so you get one too. Heartness.

No, I don't feel the same way because my personality loves being the leader most of the time and I work best alone, under pressure... what I do miss is someone who can be with me side by side...
