I have experiences work at many kinds of job such as Human resources, Secretary, customer service and purchasing as well, but they are not very long periode. The longest periode of my employed at one company is only about 3 years. With my track record of experiences such like that could be enable me to get positive point as well as negatif point from employer. Some of the employer think that no problem if the employee has more than 3 experiences work at different companies and some of the company think that it is no good if someone always move from one company to another company more than 3 times. What do you think about this subject? Thanks a lot for your participate.

I worked as a computer consultant in my later years. I started out as a data entry clerk and worked my way up the ladder to systems manager. When I felt myself getting stagnated, that's when I finally quit and started consulting. The old rule was you had to "Move out to move up." For some reason, some companies always think the grass is greener outside and choose not to promote from within. When they do this, the musical chairs start. Good people move. You have to decide if you want security which is not always secure at all or an interesting job. One thing I notice, you appear to be changing careers. It is OK to change jobs as long as you are moving up in the same career path. If you are hopping about from one type of job to another, then it may look like you are floundering and don't know what you want. Settle on a profession you like and pursue that path. Then make your changes based on promotional growth. You can then show a valid reason for making your job switch.

Thank you for your advice, but i disagree with your words that if we move from one type of job to another it means we don't know what we want. In my opinion, if we are brave to change our current job to another type of jobs, that's fine.Because if we never tried to do a different way, how we can know that we are best in one field of job? By trying to do something,we can know we have ability. Then we will say that "God, i can do it!"

Please read my post more carefully. I said it may APPEAR (to employers) that you do not know what you want. They see no loyalty and no dedication. I have been there, done that. In the early years I was lucky enough to experience a lot of different jobs. I took them because I needed to pay the bills and they sounded interesting at the time. Money was my main objective. I left them because they were never as interesting as them seemed at first. One thing those jobs taught me was I needed to get myself back in school. Sometimes, the people who are most successful are the ones who have done a variety of jobs in their life before settling into a career they really enjoy,

Everyone will want a job and a better salary than the previous place. But if you move too often work with a variety of reasons, people will assume you're a hesitant and unstable. Do not expect your career will grow faster if frequently moved around the work, because of the experience and lessons learned from the previous company never optimal. Hone your skills used in the workplace now and be a good performing employees. After that, a better job would be easily obtained.Admittedly, our work is to earn an income. But the big salary, does not guarantee you have a good job anyway. Many people who decide to move work just as tempted higher salaries. Few of those who changed jobs because they want to develop themselves. In fact, it is more important is to get a job that you enjoy and help developing ability. The salary will most demanding working hours and responsibilities heavier too. So, make sure you are enjoying your job, not just because of money

I think a person should work in a company till he finds that there is no growth for him in this company. We should give importanc on learning new things because in today's world people who are not updated about the latest technology gets updated every now and then in it they are not capable of doing that then they face a lot of problems. And also I feel that if a company feels that he does not need to employ than even the employee should feel the same and leave the company and look for a better opportunity because he will not get any advancement after the promotion from the company

Please don't work in a company which is not up to your own satisfaction!! But once you get your self satisfying job then do stick to it... build up the relationship with the seniors... once you have achieved it then only u have the face to demand and eligible to get rewarded handsomely!! This is my personal experience and i am enjoying it !!

sometimes salary is the second reason someone stay in their work or company.. when they are comfortable with their current position, they are happy with that even their salary isn`t good if compared with another job

Offices actually prefer you to move on after a certain amount of time. In offices, there are a few key people on the top, but the rest are expected not to stay for very many years. They don't want to give you raises every year, since you'd be too expensive to keep after a while. Also, after you reach 40, they think you're too expensive an insurance risk! I've had one job where the president actually told everyone that their leaving is doing him a favor. Talk frankly with your supervisor about your feelings. They'd appreciate the honesty, and you'd be surprised to find who at your job is interested in moving on. And only the most nutty supervisors won't give a positive reference.

i don`t agree with the opinion as long as you are profesionalism in your place, why not..we can`t push our work or occupation based on our background in campus.. we try to work in company based on our background, but of course it was not easy..

It is a plus and a minus. If you move around too much, you look like you will not be reliable. Employers tend to look at that. Also, the experience is a plus as well. But, I would not show too much moving around in general. Stay 3 to 5 years atleast.

One would like to work in a company as long as he is enjoying the job he is given, the salary, the benefits he is given, but as soon as he starts to get bored by the job he will get frustrated as he is not getting job satisfaction, then he will try to move out for more lucrative jobs.

my dad has been working in his company for almost 30 years now, he started at the bottom as a sales agent and slowly move up and he's currently the department head, that was his time and generation... i think our recent generation requires us to transfer from one company to another, promotion takes years, it is easier to transfer to another company that will offer you higher position and higher pay...

It depends on u, if u r satisfied with your job and u feel that there is some thing to learn in the present job, u feel there are more chances of promotions than u keep this job continue. But if u have offered a job from other org. that is more charming, challenging, and pay more than the previous job, than u should avail this opportunity.

I have been working for my current employer for more than 10 years. There were four distinct periods where my responsibilities shifted from one thing to another. Now I'm doing something I don't enjoy doing, and having trouble finding a position within the company that I would like to spend my life doing. So I started looking to see what's available last month to see what is available. In fact, homejobstop.com was the resource that lead me to this site as a non-scam money maker. So far the problem for me is composing quality responses in a timely manner. Also, I suppose it depends on the reasons you give for leaving your employers. If it was for higher pay or otherwise better job, there shouldn't be anything wrong with that. If you have an interview with an employer who thinks otherwise, well, it's his/her loss.

Hi again Irmateja, It is generally not a problem for an employer to consider hiring someone who has moved around a lot... unless that prospective employee has been forced to do so due to their inability to hold a job. Many of us will sample different positions and companies until we find the one we are most comfortable with... and that is to be expected on the part of the prospective employer.

I like stability, I worked for one company for over 22 years. I planned on retiring. But then one day, as they realized my retirement would cost them some serious money, they sent my job overseas. I was a loyal employee, I was salaried, I bust my butt working OT all of the time (not compensated for it). I neglected myself and my family to receive the bum's rush. If companies wonder why employees are no longer liable, they should look inward. The point of view I saw in the world was there. I am now looking for a job.
