When I took my first computer lesson at school, it was very different. No windows, no office package. We learned Dos, and we did typing in Wrod Star. We used Lotus. It's long ago. I got it very exciting. Did you take any computer lesson? How was your first experience with computer?

Computers were not even in schools when I was in school. I taught myself to use the computer then I taught others to use in. I decided that I would either learn or I would tear it up trying. i did learn and now I work on computers. I am selft taught on that too. My daughters went away to college and we could not afford all the long distance calls so it was cheaper to purchase a computer and use IM and email. So that is what I did. I love the computer and I have gotten quite good on it.

Self learning is good. The one of nice thing about internet is that you can keep touch with people who is far away in a very low cost.

i had my computer lessons in high school. i loved it! I even had the opportunity to join a computer contest. I represented my school. Out of the 20 contestants, we ranked number 3. i got a medal and some cash for me and my school. the contest was on programming and theory. from then on i've been a computer addict. i like to learn a lot about computer. my next plan now is to learn web designing.

Yes in 1997 I had returned to college and it was a mandatory course. I had never even turned a computer on in my life. I cried through most of that course. We also learned lotus, dos, word perfect. We also were learning windows 3.1. Within 1 year after that course I took a computer that was not suppose to be able to go online and put it online, but without graphics. It was so much fun playing with those big clunkers. I now own 8 computers and work on them for friends on the side. It is amazing what a little madatory class that I cried through has created!

Nope, I found it was better to be self-taught and to teach others instead. That is how I made my living for twenty years. I started my computer career selling Atari gaming systems and then moved into Atari computer systems but the money turned out to be in PCs that were using DOS at the time because they weren't for gaming, instead they were for business people and those people were pretty intimidated by computers those days. I just love giving people their first experience on computers becuase I teach them not to fear them. They are tools and the better you know your tools the better you can perform using them.

Computer lessons at school just didn't exist when I was growing up, because I am in my 40's now, and then, computers were only available to very few people here with large amounts of money! I learnt to type on an old-fashioned manual typewriter and I didn't have anything to do with a computer until about 23 years ago, when the company I was working for introduced them. We had a one-day training course in-house, and after that it was trial and error! I have tuight myslef everything I know about computers - but I admit I am not very techincal and don't know too much:-((

I went to a business collage for computers, the name of the course was Information system specialist with cisco. LOL i went through the entire course but i haven't looked for a job in that field and it was three years ago, its true what they say, if you dont use it you loose it. My first experience with a computer though was when i was 15, my friend had a computer at his house and i used to go on IRC (internet relay chat) before there were instand messengers lol. And he taught me a lot about computers, i was always full of many questions weather he wanted to answer them or not! i DO enjoy taking them apart and/or putting them together, it's pretty easy once you know the basics.

I took my first computer class back in High School (1993) and I for sure addicted lol. Then, when I went to college, I took a 4 year course (Bachelor of Science in Commerce) with a computer basic class and typing. Each was 3 units at the time. Not bad. It really helps me.

I first learned about computers in junior high school, there was no PC or Internet back in those days... We had keypunch, paper tape and the computer terminal took up a space that was about 10 feet square... This was in the '60's and early '70's and the machines were made in the '50's! We had to actually learn computer mathmatics and machine language... real brain-busting stuff! :) lol!
