CS or Normal?

For mothers out there, if you will be given a chance to choose, what method would you select to deliver your baby, is it via Ceasarian Section or via Normal Delivery. If you select via Normal delivery, would you opt to go for Lamaze method. I remember when I was pregnant, my OB said that since the weigth of my baby is just Ok, I would have a normal delivery. But i was really nervous since it's the first time for me to give birth. So what I did, I talked to my OB and told her that I don't want to go on labor and would opt to have a CS delivery. My OB disapproved my decision because she believes that I can easily deliver the baby via Normal delivery and she assured me that she will take care of me. If you were to choose, would you opt to deliver via CS or normal delivery?

I've experienced both. I prefer normal delivery, painful but you can recover easily and eat whatever you want right after delivery in addition it will cost you cheaper

I had CS the first time and I was hoping to have normal delivery the next time we're having a baby. I did not have my husband beside me when I deliver beacuse it's not allowed in the hospital. How I wish, I can have him beside me. It will help me lessen my fears.

Normal delivery... CS has longer recovery period and more expensive than normal delivery. As long as my baby will be delivered safely, I still won't mind CS if normal delivery isn't fit for my baby.

That is so true. I had CS delivery and I really had a hard time recovering from the operation. Plus it's really painful afterwards. It's true, I did not experience any pain during the entire operation, but afterwards, it was really painful that I would realy go away with CS for my next baby. But just like you, if the doctor says normal delivery is not fit for my baby, I would still go for CS if it's for the safe delivery of my baby.

I would only choose the normal because there are so many you can do in the delivery I understand the pain would be worst one but after that its all gone and life got settled.

That's so true. When I delivered my baby, those who had a normal delivery can immediately walk to the nursery the next day to see their baby. It took me atleast 7 days after the operation before I can walk. And it's really very painful.

i have only had one baby and i chose to deliver via normal delivery. If you have the option you should take whatever you feel more comfortable with. I would do natural delivery a hundred times over before i chose c section

I really agree with you. If I can, I would deliver via normal delivery. I missed the experience of natural birth. And they say it's the most wonderful part of the entire pregnancy. Hopefully, for my next baby, I'll have normal delivery.

I would opt for CS because of the difficulty I had with my son. I wanted CS to begin with but they said I would do okay with a normal delivery. I was in labor for nearly 24 hours. When I got to the hospital I was only dilated to "almost 1 cm" but my contractions were as strong as they could go on the monitor. They finally gave me Pitocin after 12 hours later because I was only dilated to 3cm. They had to let my epidural run completely out because I couldn't tell if I was pushing or not. It was a long delivery. With normal delivery you have 4 degrees of tearing with 4 being the worst. I had 3rd degree tears. It took me over 6 weeks to completely heal and I still have a lot of problems today. I also had to be put on Magnesium during the delivery due to my blood pressure skyrocketing. To this day I am on blood pressure meds and have recently begun meds for my heart. So if I had another child I would definetly choose CS.

I heard the same story from some of my friends that gave birth ahead of me that's why I got really scared of giving birth naturally.

We're in the same situation. And even ever we'll be having a second baby, I would opt to go for normal delivery.

I delivered both of mine normally with no paid meds. I would do it again that way if I ever had more. It is normal to be scared but I'm even more terrified of having a needle shoved in my back! I never went to lamaze class and managed to do fine. But my husband was a great coach to have beside me. If I didn't have him as my support system I would have been in hysterics.

I would chose a normal delivery. I have gone through 3 labors and had a normal delivery each time. C sections scare me... The whole cutting open your stomach thing... I almost had to have a c section with my first son because I was having a hard time getting him out but with the help and care of two nurses, I had a normal delivery with only a few minutes to spare (the doctor who did c-section was standing by to do it). If I have more children, then I want to do normal delivery again.

If I had to choose before hand I would rather have the normal delivery. I think it would be less painful afterwards and I want it to be as natural as possible god willing. I think that each mom to be feels different and they should be able to choose CS delivery if that is what they would prefer. Sometimes it is fear and why not be able to get rid of that fear before the actual time comes?

i had delivered my baby via cs method. but if i were to ask i want a nrmal delivery. I believe you can really feel the feeling og "being a mom" by experiencing the pain and hardship of giving birth.

I would definately choose the Natural delivery. My daughter is 14 months old & I did it this way & it was absolutely wonderful & I'm so glad I got to experience it. The whole C-section thing freaks me out so definately the natural way. I took the Childbirth classes for Lamaze & to be honest with you-- I don't think I used it in my labor & delivery. I just did my own thing, listened to the Dr. when he told me to push & that was really about all there is to it. I just didn't have time to concentrate on the breathing methods they taught us or anything. Everything just comes natural to you & you do what you need to do-- to get that baby out!!

I thougth of getting the Lamaze class also before but after finding out that it's really the natural method - no anesthesia, just breathing exercise to ease the pain- I decided not to take it coz for sure I won't be able to do that specially for my first baby. I'm really dissapointed that I don't get to experience the natural way of delivering my baby. I'm sure it is really a wonderful experience.

I will choose the normal ones. Im afraid of operation hikss.. and I heard that delivering by normal ways can be very painful in some cases.. but still it makes me want to do it..Because I think in ceasarian you wont be concsious.. and I want to be concsious when my baby first came out of my womb and cried. I want to be the first one to hold them after the deliveries.

Normal delivery....mothers who have a CS seem to have a more painful recovery. Though during both my normal deliveries....I was hoping for CS. But all was well in the end.

I would choose a normal birth. That is natural, and as long as there are no compications that is the best way to give birth, both for the mother and the baby. I have a narrow birth canal and my OB had told me that if I had a big baby, I would probably need a C section. But luckily, my baby was small and so I was able to deliver naturally.

They say having labor in Normal delivery is much at ease than in CS. Plus once you Deliver CS baby, you'd gonna be Cs forever in bearing child. Its much expensive too.

According to my OB, you can still have Normal Delivery even if you deliver via CS before. But some patients, according to her, since they already had CS, they opted to have CS everytime they gave birth. But you're correct, CS is really expensive.

next delivery would depend on why the 1st cs is needed. some reasons are not permanent, lets say in our case the baby was breech. but sometime it is to be repeated if there's the reason is not temporary ones. lets say if there's abnormality with the birth canal. we're now expecting for a second one, still hoping not to go for cs again.

I would choose CS...cos its easy and less painful for me and I recovered fast..well, it really comes with the price. I also experienced delivering via the normal delivery on my first born, I remember I didn't recover fast then and it was too painful even when I got home already, hard to pee and deficate, so my 2nd birth, it was too easy..i was malling already when I got out of the hospital.

My first child was delivered via CS section and she was a premature baby. i had very little amniotic fluid so we had no other option but to take the baby out. But if i were to have a baby again, i wish i'd have a normal delivery because i want to experience the "real" childbirth... however painful that may be.

i had a normal delivery although my OB advised me that i might go CS since my birth canal was a bit small for the baby... but she said she will give it a shot first if we can have it otherwise... luckily i was still able to do it via Normal delivery and i thank my OB for trying... yeah, labor's a bit hard although i only had like 5 hrs. of it... but it's definitely well worth it... it's really your call how you want it...

THOUGH MY WATER BROKE BEFORE MY DUE DATE I HAD TO GO THROUGH CS .....BUT IF I HAD BEEN GIVEN A CHOICE I WOULD HAVE PREFFERED NORMAL DELIVERY , BECAUSE IT IS A NATURAL....AND A MOTHERS HEALTH, DOESNT GET EFFECTED, IF A CS IS NT DNE PROPERLY , IT CAN LEAD TO MANY COMPLICATIONS,A MOTHER ALSO CAN START HER NORMAL ACTIVITY FAST IF SHE HAS NORMAL DELIVERY....
