What do you used to have for your breakfast?

in my country there is a very old saying
"Have your breakfast like a king
Have your lunch like a citizen
and Have your supper like a beggar."
It means that we should eat the most, when we begin our day. And we should eat very little before going to bed in the evening. It would be good for the health. But in are stressfull life it became the opposite. We do not have time to have a complete breakfast, no time for lunch neither. But we eat full of our stomack for the night.
In my life: In the morning I eat a piece of bread maximum, and drink my coffee. But I always give a normal sandwich to my son, and milk, or juice. He must eat healthy :)

i can not eat in the morning. i do not wish the food. Yes, as I am thinking I drink milk or juice.

Your concern for the child is appreciable. But you need to be a model for the children if you want them to be healthy. I find your breakfast too insufficient. why dont you include a glass of juice and cereals?

I usually just have two Eggos. If I go out for breakfast, I'll have scrambled eggs and toast.

Anything heavy makes me want to go to sleep!
I prefer to eat light. But since I am not allowed to have cereal, I will eat eggs, a low carb bread, and some bacon. That is pretty much it.
I am not a big breakfast eater.
I am more of a lunch type of person. But if I skip lunch because I am too busy to eat, then dinner will normally keep me full until the following day at lunch.
I do not require much to eat. So...if I can go without breakfast, then it is better because otherwise, my partner tries to force me to eat and then it just makes me feel sick. :P

You are more of my type in eating. But as you have said one meal need to be good for us to sustain. Quite often i take my lunch at office at about 3 p.m. that is too bad i know. It is nice that You have a caring partner.

Breakfast is indeed the most important meal of the day. The hour is not as important. I prefer my toast and a glass of milk. Then a glass of soy milk before I head out the door. However, I work only nights again so I don't have to hurry to eat before I leave for work. I do like pancakes or french toast on the weekends. Bacon of sausage is nice too. Hash browns are particularly enjoyed!! Traveling is when a large breakfast can take you through most of the day!!

You have given a graphic picture of your breakfast. It is true that the breakfast need to be flexible depending on the requirements. The items you take for your breakfast are pretty good and nutritious. I carry some thing like sandwich or fruits while traveling. Thank you for your feed back.

homely dosai is good . But i remeber the dosai made of rice grinded in traditional manual grinder with coconut chutney made in the same way. Gone are the taste. it is all your mixer or grinder now that takes the life of these two perfect couples.

You definitely need to change that habit. a brak fast is a must since you cannot afford to keep your stomach empty formore than 12 hours.

Dear menon!!!, break fast is not the most important food of a day.You are just breaking the fast what you have keptfor the
night.In the morning you are starting the day with break fast.This should be light only.Any thing which you feel light you can eat. I normally like to have steamed idely( rice cake)
because there is no oil and the food is energetic.Occassionaly
i like to take purries. You Should not take heavy breakefast.
Instead night supper could be heavy.

The medicos have a different opinion. You are breaking the fast but that supply you for almost half of the day's energy. We work hard in the morning and that requires good food supplement.It need not be oily since that adds to the cholesterol but it need to be sufficient and nutritious. Our idly is good since it contains Black gram. But poories are not good after middle age.

That was our traditional way .But things have changed now cornflakes,rotis and ready made breakfasts and fast foods.
