How many best friends have you had? Are you picky in who is your friend?

I have many friends in my work and home-life, but am very picky about who I would consider a best or trusted friend. Do you have many people that you like to run around with, or enjoy just 1 or 2 friends to spend time with? I know many people who seem to have friends galore and who are always coming and going somewhere, but I think I am more of loner and enjoy just doing things by myself or with 1 or 2 other people. What about you? Was wondering how "normal" I was! lol

I do have quite a number of friends, but only two best friends and these two are the ones whom I will turn to for everything. I guess the rest of my friends are people who I can get along very well with, but not necessarily people who I can bare my heart to. I suppose I'm just as 'normal' as you are :)

Yes, I know what you mean -- there are fun to be with friends, and friends that you can trust with serious talk. Thanks for your comment.

I consider all of my friends my best friends. I realize there's no point in having just one.

having several friends does help when you are looking to do something - there is usually somebody available :o)

I am VERY careful as to who I call "friends" as I believe it is one of the most abused words today. A friend is a person I can trust with my everything.A friend may be out of my life for years but we just pick up where we were. I have few friends but the ones I do call friend is one for life. Guess you are more "normal" than you thought....

I love to make friends, but of course, it takes a long time before we could get to know and earn trust from each other. But I have childhood friends, whom I'm more at ease and knows what they are good at and to what they are in need of more understanding. But I treasure and understand them, they are always around me when I'm in need of comfort. The same thing that I also do for them, give and take and sharing to one another. But there are also times when I get to feel that I only need to be alone, at times where my friends would also understand my part. What's imoportant is, we've already put up a strong foundation in our friendship. Nobody can break it and separate us all apart..

I really only have one best friend, even though she lives in Colorado now. We met when we were in the 6th grade and I was the new kid in school and we've been best friend ever since. :) I really miss her, but we talk on the phone and email all of the time, so that helps. :) We're from the same hometown, so maybe we'll get back there at the same time. We've missed each other over the past 9 years when we go home. We've talked about going to our next high school reunion, so maybe we'll get to see each other then.

I am not that choosy when it comes to making friends. I just go with those who are kind and with sense of humor. I have many friends and I considered them all as my best and true friends.

hmmm, do all your friends rank the same way? Is there one or two that you would call FIRST in an emergency, or major event in your life, or would they all do?

I am very careful with who I consider my best friend. It takes a lot of time, and my current best friends.. Cherie and Gerard.. I have known them for a long time, and have put them through things and they have been there always. I have had maybe 5 people in my life that I consider my best friend, and each time I lose one.. it makes me more reluctant to get another one.

I had a circle of "best friends" when I was in high school but I have lost contact with them now. I don't usually go out with friends. I like it better when I go out alone. Maybe I'm just not used going out with friends. But I do have friends at work. Well, not lots of them, because I'm picky with friends, too and I don't usually talk much. But I do joke around with a few trusted friends.

lol i think your pretty normal.. and probably more loyal to your friends than most people are... i have many friends, but very rarely do i consider anyone my best friend! i have alot of trust issues and the term 'best friend' is just not something that should be handed willy nilly!
