Ok, when you're trying to lose weight, what do you do to keep from snacking, picking, or down right stuffing your face? A few I try is don't go food shopping hungry! Chew gum Brush your teeth and use mouthwash right before u cook (so food wont taste pleasant, so u wont want to eat it) Drink a glass of water Anyone have any secrets that can help others out? Thanks!

I was told chewing gum is not good as it actually teases the stomach, when you chew the saliva gets activated and your stomach prepares to accept food which makes you hungry.....

YEs! I like to keep low-calorie, but weird foods, such as gherkin pickles, olives, and roasted soybeans in the cupboard. I also crave bitter things, so I keep lemons and limes in the fridge. One of the reasons why your body craves food while you are on a diet is because you're not getting some vitamins that you should be. Do keep lots of cool water on hand, and don't be afraid to go for a nice cup of tea at any time, with low-fat milk and non-caloric sweetener. I love iced tea with lemon and no sweetener - I can drink a whole pitcher-full and not gain weight. It fills me up, cleans me out, and allows me to quench my thirst very speedily. I don't recommend chewing gum! I get gas from it - swallowing air contributes to a feeling of emptiness in the stomach and makes me want to eat. Sugared suckers also fail to help, since they make the body burn the sugar too fast and cause mild hypoglycemia. The soy beans are a great idea- they regulate your hormones, and give you something very tough to chew on, while helping add B vitamins and lots of soy isoflavones to your diet! They also fill you up and are a great source of roughage.

Go for a walk or do something energetic to pass the time. Try sucking on hard candy or a lolipop. It will keep something in your mouth and fools the brain into thinking you are eating more. It worked for me but I need to get back to it again. You can also try eating smaller meals but more meals for the calorie intake. Good luck to all those trying to lose the weight or just being more healthy.

I drink a large glass of unsweet tea or water. It seems to stop the stomach from thinking it is hungry by filling it up.
