recently i was back from bangkok. we went there with my hubby n and another couple which r my hubby friends. i was so excited as 1st as this is the 1st trip we went ever since we married. in my mind i just treated this as a honeymoon with my hubby cos we hv not done that yet. do u know we really regreted going..? ok, why i said so is not because bangkok not a nice place for tour. me n my hubby just regreted that we went there with the so called my hubby friend was a mistake. the friend of my hubby, his wife is a thai so when we reached there he actually brought us to visit his wife relatives at south thailand which is so far from bangkok u see.? its a bit more like kumpong there n nothing much to see n enjoy. we were even bluffed that its a very nice place there n the most spent 2 days there n end up spending abt 3 1/2 days there nothing really any special. finally they brought us back to bangkok n we only left 1 1/2 days as our trip was 5 days. so this is the lesson we hv learned, never go with friend that u not really understand him or her. oh ya 1 more thing is do u know from bangkok to the so called south thailand was so far that it too us almost 7 to 8 hours to reach there. sigh...honeymoon? ha ha ha..!

Bangkok is such a nice city i heard. I've never been there before. However, I would like to go within this year. Unfortunately, a lot of problem happened in Thailand recently. I hope, there will be a peace soon there.

I can assure you that the military coup in Thailand has had little or no effect on life in Bangkok for the foreigner. The main tourist areas of Bangkok are safe and as long as you have sense you can have a good time. I have been in Bangkok for most of the last 5 years. I have no plans to leave. It is a great place.

Bangkok will probably be my next vacation destiny! I'm expecting to find a very nice place as I love eastern countries and culture. "One night in Bangkok and the world's your oyster, The bars are temples but the perls ain't free." :D I'm hoping to stay more than one night, by the way!

I'm sorry to hear about your bad honeymoon to Bangkok. You should have gone alone with your husband because 4 is a crowd really for 2 people to enjoy. I will be going by myself alone so I hope 8 days is not too long. I was in Hongkong alone for 8 days and I loved it.

i don't think so cos i think it will be fun if u go around by urself or with ur love one only rather than following others.

Bangkok is one of the best places that I have been to. I'm sorry to hear about your honeymoon but maybe you haven't tried going to the floating market and going on a cruise on the chao praya river. Bangkok also has 5 star hotels and shopping malls like the Platinum. If you want bargains you can go to the Pratunam market and the Chatuchak night market.

A minor correction as not to confuse readers..... Chatuchak (Jatujak in thai) is a weekend market and not a night market. It is open every Saturday and Sunday from around 8 am - 6 pm. Located near Mo Chit Station (if you are going to ride the BTS). Suam Lum is the known night market in Bangkok. It is located near the Lumphini Park. There is a prevailing issue of it being shut down to accommodate the construction of the MRT (underground rail). Patpong Area do have a night market but it is not as cheap as in Suam Lum and in Jatujak. For clothes, Pratunam is even cheaper than in Jatujak. Locals do say so.

sound did not happy with visiting BKK. that correct because you don't have time to see and visit ,could be a bed luck ,besicly if your frind have open a choice for you to select ,and make the contact my phone you might have experienced sth like this, I can say soory because BKK. is much more than you think for any visitor from around the world.anyway ,this is normal life some time it happend so learn from it and be happy dokaor from BKK

When I started reading your discussion I thought of congratulating you on going out for your first honeymoon but as I kept on reading, you really had a very bad time on your vacation, just travelling for so many hours and staying for more than half of your vacation time. But in the end it gave a lesson to you and your husband not to go on vacation with anyone. Vacations are just to enjoy and relax with your own family.

Look Thailand was my second home because my dad has business there and we went there in every school vacations to meet our father and to enjoy our vacations outside the country ......but infact i never liked thailand specially bangkok the place is so hot and the traffic is too much inside the city plus the enviourenment is not good because of congested old buildings .......therefore we stopped to go there longtime ago but after longtime i went there last year for business purpose so i found alot of development there which i really liked and bangkok's skyline so these things made me little much attracted towards the place for sometime ....................other wise bangkok is the most boring place i ever found ....... I allready went to singapore, malaysia, bangladesh & thailand but i really liked malaysia as compare to all these countries singapore is also good but its not a big city and very expensive too therefore i prefer Malaysia .........
