How Much Do You Spend on a Haircut?

United States

Hubby and I just had a debate on what is a good price for a haircut. My stylist charges $15 for a men's haircut. His charges $22. Mine does a better job. His always leaves him wishing he went to mine. Today, he goes to my stylist. : ) I win.

We cut our own hair. We don't go to a stylist or hair cutter. We put the hair in the compost bin. We all have pretty simple cuts and is not hard to maintain. Do not color or perm our hair. Well my daughter uses that spray stuff that colors your hair..lol. So we save that money for other things.

I always just go to SuperCuts or Fantastic Sam's. Both places charge about $12 I think but I usually just pay $15 to include the tip. I'm usually pleased with the results, but I hardly ever get the same person twice.

I cut my husbands, sons, and father-in-laws hair at home. I went out and purachased hair clippers for $17 (about the price we use to pay for 1 hair cut). I now have turned to cutting their hair by hand with an occasional clipper cut. I only trim my daughters hair by hand once and awhile. For myself, I have long hair and want to keep it that way - so I haven't paid for a haircut in quite awhile.

Last time I went to a hairdressers or had a professional hair cut was in 1973 (and the time before that was 1966!) .. I asked for a trim of no more than 2 inches of the length and a blow dry .. the swine cut off 8 inches and I walked out without paying and still with wet hair sobbing my heart out !! I've never trusted hairddressers enough since then to walk through the doors of a salon ..

I stopped going to a hairdresser after I turned 18 and the stylist hacked at my hair. They were professionals and had a good reputation. Guess they forgot about that when it was my turn. About 9 years later I decided to give it another try. A friend told me of her stylist and with that, I braved another cut. I told her that I wanted my hair to be just past my shoulders. SHe chopped it to just above my shoulders. After that, I did my own hair. 18 years later, I had 10 inches cut off. I then periodically had it trimmed and restyled. Now I have found a good stylist and will stick with her.

In this country UAE, charges for haircut ranges from US $8-15 for men and women. The price range depends on the location of the shops, it it's located in an urban community is a bit more expensive.

I go to this girl at the mall. She has a different color manic panic hair color every time I see her - and a face full of metal. The hair cut costs $11 and I never have to tell her what to do. She looks at my face, my clothes, etc and cuts to fit me.

Nothing. Well, okay, I bought my clipper set for maybe $30. I bought a couple pairs of scissors at around $10 a pair. But I've used this stuff so many times that it's easily paid for all the haircuts I've done with it. I like cutting my own hair. I always get what I want because I just keep on going until I do.

Well my wife likes to get a hair dresser to do her hair and in the 25 years we have been married I think she had one hair dresser she was happy with but she moved away and it's back to "I hate my hair!!" :) I don't cut my hair. I would rather spend my money on my wife trying to find a hair dresser that will make her happy with her hair and ears. Well seriously I had a heart attack in 2004 and said I would not cut my hair until I was healthy enough to go fishing and catch a fish. I am hoping this summer will be the summer I get my next hair cut and I am going to let my friends all cut it for me. :)

You might like to think of having your hair cut for a charity .. try and get a few folks to give a small amount of money and then give it to a charity of your choice ..

I go to a Chinese hairdresser in Chinatown and pay $42 for color, wash, cut and blow-dry--and even get a neck and shoulder massage. Downtown at a major salon, the same would cost more than twice as much. Even paying for a taxi for the 15 block trip makes it cheaper, and the quality is every bit as good.

I usually try to get my haircut as mystery shops that way I can get a $40 cut for free. There are times, however, when I've gone to Great Clips with a coupon and only spent 6 or 7 dollars on a cut.

Haha! Victory is yours!:) My hubby and I go to Procuts for our haircuts and one lady does for both of us. I can be very fussy if I don't get a proper haircut, luckily from the first time Lee (the lady who does our cuts) has been doing a gr8 job. We pay $12 or $13 each.

Well of course , we always win , we rule :) I pay 17 when I go for a cut . She is really good and around here we get cheaper prices then the people who live in the cities . You can have it done for 10 dollars around here if you go to someone who is not up on all the latests styles . Generally I don't find I have the time to go get my hair cut so I just do it myself . Seems too much money for me to waste on something that is going to grow back in a week as my hair grows so fast .
