Would you have done this, given the choice? There is a woman who I was just reading about in the news who went ahead with her wedding reception after being dumped by her groom to be. She decided to cheer herself up by still having the reception, using her dog as a fake 'groom' in place of the real groom. bear in mind that she was not, of course, actually marrying her dog! *laugh*
I think that this is an adorable story, actually! What do you think? I wouldn't have done it myself, I don't think, but the wedding reception was already set up and she said that she had fun. You can read the whole story here:

Well, since two weeks before the wedding one can probably not get a refund for anything...I think I would probably have a party. Or I would find someone else to get married and invite them there.
But I wouldn't want to cancel it and just loose all the money. I would want to party and try to enjoy myself.
As for her going on her honeymoon anyways with a friend...good for her!!!

That is what I was thinking!!
Why would you just cancel everything when you could still have fun and try to get over what happened? Especially if you cant get a refund! Haha!
Great Response! :DD

This week I heard on the radio about a bride in a similar situation, who turned her reception into a women only party as a fund raiser for charity. I am sorry, I cannot remember which charity, or I would post it too. She could get refunded for everything but the reception, so she used it generously.

That is adorable!
I don't know what I would do, but I don't know if I would have done that!
I might have had a party, but I don't think that I would have been as creative as that!! Haha!
But, now if that ever happens to me, which I hope never does, that is what I will do!! LOL :DD

I think this is rather bizarre. I sympathize with the poor woman but then again I don't know how it feels to be dumped at the ulter. I've been married for the past 23 years with the same man.

Going a head with the reception is cool. I think I might have. Why waste the money for the set up and the cake is there so kick the groom off the top and party on. Can cry about it later. Everyone showed up so give em a party. I think I might would do that.

I think that was senseless the persons in the ceremony would have thought that some thing was wrong with this bride cause would anybody do some thing like this defenitely a person who is mentally not correct would have done that in that case she would have lost all her pride in her which would she gained.

If this would have happened to me,I would go ahead with the reception without the dog. Its her wedding,so she can do whatever she wants,I'm glad she had a good time doing this.

In my opinion, I think it was a wonderful idea. Who else can be as loyal, faithful and loving as her dog? I am glad she did this. It shows that she has a great sense of humor, and she is strong enough to get on with her life, when life tries to slap her down. I am very proud of her.
Besides, if the reception was already set up, and the money was already spent, why waste it?

It could have been worse she could have sat and cried and felt sorry for herself all night I would say good for her that she turned the other cheek and went right on about her business she is a better woman than I would have been about the situation!

She's is understandably wary and the mindstate then would be absolutely undescribable. This might had came to her as an idea to show him down, as in she give's a dam.
