i'd rather die young

one thing for sure!
i dont want to reach the age where i can no longer walk and be burden to others.
i know its one of the normal degenarative illness we have but i dont want to reach that point where i can no longer take care of myself and need the caring of others.
i have tried once to take care of my grandmother and im glad cause its one way of having bond with her but at the same time its hard, everythings needs to be fixed and sometimes it locks you up to do the things you want to do.
dont get mad at me, i know we have to take care of oldr people cause we love them and its our one way of returning there love to us...
i dont want to reach that impairment of health... and if i will i'd rather be dead.

I too sometimes feel that I would be of no need when I get older. I am afraid that others would ignore me and that they will just put me to some shelters for the elders. I hate thinking of it everytime it crosses my mind, the feeling of being ignored and to be taken care of someone whom I didn't know. Would they think about of the things that I've done just to provide them for living? O hope this questions wouldn't be answered in case I get old, I'd rather die with my mind still knowing that they still loved me and spend the best times along with my family.

I have known the elderly who still are vibrant and healthy. Take care of your health now so that you may be one of those. I am talking about people who are over 90 or 100 walking daily and being able to care for themselves, and to help others. It seems so scary when you are young, I know.

I know what you mean, I looked after my mother for awhile which I had a slight nervous breakdown, I don't think I will ever really be like I used to be and then when she passed away I volunteered in a Nursing Home and I know for sure I do not want to be old either, I don't want life without quality...

I agree with its always better to die while you are still walking,no one is bothered when you are in bed even your better half will leave you.

I agree with you 100%. As soon as I can no longer care for myself I would want my tme on earth to be done. It's so hard seeing my grandmother who practically took care of me my whole life unable to take care of herself now.
