Oatmeal?

I just lowered my cholesterol! Oatmeal with cinnamon and sugar. Mmmm, so good on a cold winter's morning. Some people, I have heard, adds a little butter to theirs. Do you like to sit down with a bowl of oatmeal? What do you use to spice it up? Or sweeten? I'm looking for different ways to flavor it. Thanks, in advance!

Oatmeal-wow a long lost favorite! I havent had oatmeal in years! Actually as a kid, I hated it....but when I was in the hospital having my second baby, they served it as breakfast and being hungry, I ate it. I was surprised to find how yummy it was! I like all variations and I do like the flavored Quaker instant oatmeals too-apple cinnamon and peaches and cream are delicious!

I like oatmeal too and luckily it is something I can still have. People I know use brown sugar, maple syrup or honey. I use Splenda and cinnimon on mine. It really tasted good this morning, with it be so cold out.

The cold weather was what brought me to try oatmeal again! The lowering the cholesterol was the bonus!

Yes it is the recommended food suplement for diabetic patients without sugar. We can also add a bit of honey or butter milk or curd or milk and have the oatmeal porrige. Now Iam 33 and I always prefer to have otmeal porrige with milk and sugar.

I like to make it the old fashioned way in the crockpot. Sweeteners I've used include splenda, brown sugar or maple syrup.

Yes I do. Well, usually I add some chocolate milk when I cook the oatmail, I also add some corn flakes to it, and it makes the oatmeal very yummy. My mom sometimes put some palm sugar to it, which make the oatmeal my favourite menu for breakfast. You shoulf try it! It's taste very nice ^^

These are very interesting comments! I do think I would try sweetened condensed milk, or chocolate milk and corn flakes. I have added maple syrup, raisins, or peanut butter before.

I haven't tried it with peanut butter in it. Next time I buy peanut butter, I will definitely try it!

I love Oatmeal. I usually put raisins, milk, fructose, and cinnamon on mine. Or, I'll just add applesauce instead of milk and fructose. I sometimes eat it three times a day.
