Can kids go with you while you get a tattoo?

Sorry, tried to shorten subject but can't spell this morning. But I'd really like to get a tattoo, but timing stinks. So the kids (ages 4,7) would probably have to go with us, do they frown on that, or are they welcome?

A lot depends on the business. Call them and ask if they have a problem with the kids being there. If they can then make sure the kids have something to do while you are getting the tattoo done. That way they are kept busy and not bugging anyone including you. Find out when the best time is to go so that way you won't have to wait too long as well.

My tattoo shop won't let anyone under the age of 18 through the front doors. Their feeling is that there are certain images they don't think kids should see, plus the language can get pretty juicy in there.

At the tattoo studio I go to, children under fourteen aren't allowed inside, with or without a parent.

Depends a lot on how you have raised your kids so far. If they are used to watching things like these, there is no need to worry about it. Otherwise, why not advise them not to watch it?

Well then we should have no problems, the kids watch Discovery Channel and all the gory surgery shows, so seeing someone get tattooed should be no problem!

At all the tattoo shops around where I live, you have to be at least 18 years old to even go in the door of the tattoo shop, I'm not sure if it would be different for you.

I would say it would probably just depend on the tattoo parlor you were planning on going to, but I would suggest just getting a babysitter for your children. It may not be stressful for them to be in that enviornment, but you might want some privacy or peace and quiet while getting your tattoo.
